Lakers roster building is confusing. They are going to dump a 6-10/6-9 guys in Woods/Cam for another SG in GTJ? Have no trouble moving off of Woods/Cam. However, isn’t Lakers greatest need backup C and 3D? Doesn’t this move a ridiculous Guard heavy roster? Not to mention they just resigned Christie for $7M/yr plus draft Knecht. GTJ takes away minutes from them. My basic question is shouldn’t any trade/signing make sense from a roster depth standpoint? Is the GTJ signing an indication Lakers also plan to trade away one of their guards? Maybe Vincent? AD has been pushing for another big and Lakers see adding another SG? If Lakers are signing GTJ, it should be to replace another SG currently on the roster. Trading Woods/Cam should be a move to get another big …. Unless, Lakers are looking to move Woods/Cam/Gabe at the same time … ok, then I could see signing GTJ Again, how does a Laker move affect the Roster depth? Lakers should be focused on replacing Rob with maybe the GM from OKC (Sam Presti) or some other GM.

I’ve been high on Gary Trent Jr. for a couple years. It’s inconsistent, but his offensive game speaks for itself. More importantly he’s capable of being a very good defender. Not hypothetically. When he’s locked in his footwork is excellent, great reaction time, sees rotations well. JJ and co would just have a tall order to bring that out. Paul Reed isn’t it though.

What i think is a big and athletic center and not a small size centers just like what you put in your video. 6’11 and above with a play style like dwight howard can be a better option

1. For the PG/SG position, I'd consider Gary Trent Jr. I'd also consider looking at Anfernee Simons, who I heard about recently, specifically being a potential free agent, as well as LAL being one of the few teams currently looking at him. Simons is definitely a much better upgrade compared to D'Lo: Athletic, fast, 3 level scoring guard, with the ability to be an efficient sharpshooter, just under 39% from 3pt range, fairly better playmaker, a 22+ppg scorer as well. He and GTJ should be one of the top priorities in my opinion. 2. When C-Wood originally got signed to the Lakers, he was initially supposed to get the start next to AD, so that AD can stick to the PF position, where he's most comfortable at. Unfortunately, that didn't happen, and he was given a bench role. in a few big time games, most notably against the Clippers, Suns and Bucks in the regular season, he's shown to be a very reliable help defender, as well as a very capable perimeter and interior defender, especially against players like KD, PG, and D-Book. He also proved to be a versatile 2-way stretch PF/C that can also hit the occasional 3, despite this season being a season low. If you put him amongst the starters and grant him more minutes, he would've definitely been a more efficient 3pt scorer, and overall scoring big. He averaged around 17-18ppg in his last 2 seasons, as well as around 37% from 3pt range before he got to LAL. Those stats were primarily because...HE WAS A STARTER!!!!!!!!!!! Lakers need to put him next to AD. 3. Idk why they're choosing to prioritize Hayes over Christian Wood, that shit honestly doesn't make sense to me at all. Hayes doesn't have a specific skill or attribute that really stands out to other teams. The highest number on his stat sheets is his overall FG percentage, which was about 72% last season. Not at all bad, but alot of that is accredited to most of his offense coming from alley-oops and dishes. Defensively, he had a couple good plays, but not really anything that jumped out at you. He was also a flashy highlight reel dunker, and not exactly a bad player, but I would look to trade him away. 4. There's still a few notable, under-the-radar free agents still lurking that I still think the LAL should look into; Robert Covington, KJ Martin and Cameron Johnson. The 1st 2 guys have veteran minimums as their current contract projection, which is more than affordable. 5. Trade D'Lo, Hayes and Vincent.

*Unpopular Opinion* 1) You run Dlo until trade deadline, in my opinion he is one of the best pg options for us. 2) You trade Rui, Gabe, and (unfortunately) Vando in order to acquire Brandon Ingram. 3) Offer taxpayer MLE to Gary Trent Jr. Starters: PG Dlo SG Trent Jr. SF BI PF Bron C AD 4) You still have 1 roster spot to get a back up big if possible with whatever salary we have left

Lakers should look 👀 at Colin Sexton, Jalen Suggs, Tyrus Jones or Lonzo Ball buyout. I would personally look into Anthony Simon's & Jermi Grant both in a trade, center maybe Wendell Carter Jr, Nick Richards, Kessler Walker. Jeannie Buss 🚌 if Rob Penlinka cannot get something done she and Lakers organization need to look at Rob Penlinka.

I think wood can actually have a good role here under JJ RED-DICK with the spacing offense that he want to run.. I think with bron off the floor wood and AD actually worked pretty well together but Ham didn't use it enough or get the best out of it. MAYBE JJ can before we simply salary dump wood. Reddish on the contrary can go for free cause Ham actually used him way more than he should've and he did not do enough for the team. The kid has potential but i'm tired of players that have demons to exercise before reaching their peak. LONZO, BEN SIMMONS, REDDISH, AND in my opinion BRONNY is looking like he's going to be in that same category but i hope i'm wrong the worst way.

Reed/Achua too small to fill the center role the Lakers need. Trent long time persued, doesn't fit a need and doesn't play D to make it worth considering. Osman could somewhat make sense at SF but not a high priority. Lakers need a point of attack defender and a true Center with shooting being great but ability to anchor a defense first priority while Davis sits .
