@Jason Strom Well the reason Brian Westbrook played in 5 NFC title games a Sb and a ton of playoff games, is because Barry Sanders was the entire offense of the Lions, the Eagles of the 2000s spread it around much more with really no WR. I remember a playoff game Phi Vs Det that was like 51-7 in the beginning of the 3rd quarter. Literally, with Barry Sanders playing on the losing side. The starters were out like a few minutes after half time. Literally allowing the Lions to just throw and run underneath, they ended up with 30+ points but the game was over in the 2nd quarter. He was great but if you stop him, they arent likely to beat you, thats why Det never went anywhere deep into the playoffs. Westbrook was used on the ground and as a reciever much more than Sanders. He played a lot less games and Barry maybe the greatest or one of, but they are very similar. If You put Westbrook on them Lions teams that ran the ball 30 times a game, hed get 1500 yds a year on the ground. But the league became a much more pass happy league from 1989 to 2004. Westbrooks numbers were as a receiver and a RB. 2000 yds from scrimmage 1 time. Barry did it 2 times.

Much as I love Shady, bWest to me is THE all time Eagles rb all due respect to Wilbert the Great Boobie has a chance to be great but Westbrook was something else I always remember that game at Tamp Bay when he made like 5 dbs completely miss and scored the Td with like 3 seconds left (to which the bucs kicker hit like a 60yarder for the win 😖😖😖) or the td at Vikings in that playoff game v prime Adrian Peterson. Or that one at DC during the 75th anny season. I could go on and on. Truly my fav all time Eagles rb

Barry sanders 1994-1998. 5 year span per 16 games played. 1,980 yards from scrimmage 10 tds ( rushing & receiving ) 3 fumbles Brian Westbrook 2004 - 2008: 5 year span(as a starter mostly healthy), per 16 games. 1,880 yards yards from scrimmage 12 tds (rushing receiving) 2 fumbles. I put him in the HOF. Total stats are way overrated. I care about what a player could do in his prime. Ill take 5 years of GREATNESS over 10 years of "pretty good." Westbrook was comparable to barry sanders for a 5-6 year span. Was Barry sanders a hall of famer after his 6th year? If he was, brian should be in HOF.
@ChillConservative2k155 жыл бұрын
This is why context matters. What you fail to point out is that Barry Sanders played on a significantly worse team. So they really are not the same.
@gardetto2655 жыл бұрын
I love Westbrook but Barry sanders played 10 GREAT seasons with a pro bowl each year and no less then 1300 yards rushing. You could argue sanders left in his prime. Having said that I believe Westbrook was the best at what he did in thoae few years. If injuries didn't derail his career, who knows. P.s sanders has over 15000 rushing yards in 10 seasons. If he would of played a few more he could very well of reached 20000 rushing yards
@kinginanorth5 жыл бұрын
I absolutely LOVE Brian Westbrook, he was my favorite back when he played but if you are calling Barry Sanders 10 years "pretty good" then you need to start taking your meds before commenting on KZbin. Barry Sanders had the best 10 years of any runningback in the history of this great game. He played with 11 different starting Quarterbacks in 10 years Rodney Peete, Bob Gagliano, Eric Hipple, Erik Kramer, Andre Ware, Scott Mitchell, Dave Krieg, Don Majkowski, Frank Reich, Gus Frerotte and Charlie Batch. While Westbrook played with Donovan McNabb. Barry was the focal point and faced 8-9 men in the box, Westbrook although very valuable not the main focal point. Hell Westbrook wouldn't even compare himself to Barry so please stop this. All it does is create a negative response to what should be a comment section dedicated to celebrating Westbrooks greatness. You also can't just give Westbrook stats that did not happen, his numbers where 1621 total yards from scrimmage, while only 983 per year in that span came on the ground during that five year span. The per game average applies to games that are played with the idea that IF he had played 16 games a season those COULD have been his numbers. Barry's numbers are valid as he never missed any games. That contributes to his greatness, Westbrooks ultimate failure to make the HOF is based on his history of injuries. The one thing I recall was every week he seemed to be on the injury list as probable or questionable. You don't make the HOF based on what could have been.

@johnnolan331774 жыл бұрын
@@jasonmurdock3474 McCoy was more traditional back. I think Westbrook actually is more valuable in a playoff game. Remember the term "22 on Westbrook" Meaning all 22 eyes must watch Brian Westbrook, we cant let him beat us. They finally bring TO in another big weapon and they get to the SB, and then the circus began. If they would have gotten a WR earlier that just shut up and played. Theyd have won 1 of them SBs. Plus I am a firm believer that now that the Pats have been caught this second time, and I SEEN THE FILM, that they filmed the Eagles plays in the SB, and thats the reason they were there in the 1st place all these times. they been cheating beyond sportsmanship, and multiple former patriots have came out and said so. Eric Mangini said theyre filming other teams, Doug Flutie said he grabbed Bradys helmet and it never shut off at the 15 second mark, Ted Johnson said hed have a list of the teams plays an hour before gametime taped to his locker in 2005, thats the year that the Eagles lost the SB. Jay Glazer just came out with another tape of them filming teams they werent even playing. THE FUCKING 2019 BENGALS. Theyre trash and it all goes back to Belichek and Brady, everyone else left
