I'm so happy this helps!! Here's another tutorial that may help you make more sitting room without adding to the inseams (It actually compares how to add to the inseam and make room... and how to make room without adding to the inseam) kzbin.info/www/bejne/j3yyYpKbobCLg6M Hope this helps, thanks for fitting along with me

Oh this is so me! I do have a question. I’m a shortie just under 5’2”. My normal hip is about 6 inches from my waist. However I have a larger higher hip about 3.5 inches from my waist. Which hip should I use for best fit. Thank you for this.
@JSternDesigns3 күн бұрын
That is a great question... Since you have slender legs, use the smaller full hip measurement to pick your size... and then if you're fitting along with the way I do it, you'll have fitting allowances along the side seams to let out the high full hip.... If you use the high full hip measurement, you'll end up with even more ease to remove on the leg :) Hope this helps, thanks for watching

@@JSternDesignsoh yes it does. I’ve often heard how the pants falls out from the hips. I can’t wait to try this.

Do you need to true-up the back leg side seam as your adjustment seems to create a bulge at the hip line?
@JSternDesignsКүн бұрын
Good Point... Technically you're not adding length to the side seam.. .but it's always a good idea to walk the front/back seams together to make sure they still sew together. If the "bulge" is too much... you can soften it by filling in the dip below the adjustment. Hope this helps, thanks for watching

Hi Jen! I love the videos, I’ve learnt so much already. I am struggling to understand how you determine where to place the crotch line (f ex in an existing pattern that doesn’t have it marked) and at what angle, and same goes for the control line - is it supposed to be parallel?
@JSternDesigns3 күн бұрын
:) The crotch line (or level) would be the horizontal line across the pattern that is at the tip of the crotch. For this adjustment, draw the horizontal line an couple inches below that crotch level. The control lines are 4"-5" inches below the horizontal line. These two lines are parallel to each other and perpendicular to the vertical grainline. Hope this helps, thanks for fitting along with me

@ thank you so much for clarifying!! Can’t wait to try it out, 3 different sizes at W H & legs have been the bane of my existence ever since I started sewing. You’re a star for sharing all that great knowledge!
