Taking a look and putting up the AWK 7 Band Cobweb Antenna (20m, 17m, 15m, 12m, 10, 6m and 4m).
Also carry out some analysis on it using the NanoVNA antenna analyser.
Here's the link to the Cobweb antenna: www.ebay.co.uk...

Nicely done. Just started looking at a cobweb to go on the roof at 30 feet off the ground Your FT8 results are encouraging.

This was really useful. I learnt a lot without having to buy one! You can keep foxes away by dipping the relevant guy rope in diesel. If you don't fancy that, try some plastic tubs with diesel rags round the guy points. Don't put diesel on the ground as it will kill the grass! Alternatively make the first metre of the guys from steel cable used in sailing. A chandlers will give you good advice there. I've found a lot of boat fittings are good for antenna building as it's made to be exposed to the elements.

Thanks for the really useful tips! To be fair, I wouldn't want to chew on anything that had been dipped in Diesel either!

Glad you're pleased with your Cobweb antenna and your nanovna (a game-changer, I've found; I'm thrilled with mine). The nanovna saver software is powerful; I know you'll discover more of its capabilities as you use it more. You can plot SWR directly, rather than have to slide a marker across a return loss plot. And not having the S_21 plot take up a third of your screen when you're only looking at one port. It can really do a lot. DX es 73

I have the same antenna. What unfortunately started well ends up as a total flop. The resonances have shifted dramatically, now I really ask myself what the problem is? 20m - 99 kHz, 17m - 326kHz, 15m - 398 kHz, 12m - 502 kHz, 10m - 606 kHz, 6m - 925 kHz. What kind of shit is water flowing into the box or what could that be. I am desperate. The SWR only shows blood red.

Great video - thanks! I am looking at antenna options, and this seems to be a good low impact option for my garden. I see on eBay that the seller also has a 40m - 10m version, which is larger, and has a vertical support and guys for the legs (understandably costs a bit more of course).

Yes, I'd recommend it Paul. I've worked a lot of DX on it since installing it!

Nice video you’ve put together for the cobweb and the nanovna. I own a nanovna and I am very happy with it and would recommend joining the Facebook group as it has become very useful as I also learned about charging the vna via a computer USB port 3 as this will not damage the battery and make it swell up like it would if you use a normal phone charging outlet which charges it at a higher rate. Hope this little bit of info helps and keep the video’s coming 73s 2e0zwz Steve.

Hi, thanks for the in-depth video. Do you remember roughly how long was the RG58 feeder from the Nano VNA to the antenna? Did the IC-7300 show the same SWR results as the Nano VNA?

I've just received the same antenna. Mine has the same yellow fibre glass rods, but mine has white wire and blue cord, so is even more obvious. I'm missing the 5 nuts and bolts which prevent the antenna from folding up. I contacted the seller, who says to send the missing parts would cost him £24 postage, a day's wages in Poland! Yeah, right, I can't believe that! I've ordered the nuts and bolts from eBay. I get pretty much the same swr as above. Overall, not a bad antenna for the price.

Good price. They’re always difficult to raise, you did very well on your own. My Comet H422 is on the end of a 6m Pole (1m goes in the ground socket) and it took 3 of us. I’ve been searching to see if there’s any bracketry that would allow such aerials to be raised up and down the mast, as you would a sail, but I haven’t found anything yet.

Yes, it was a bit of a handful, I've had it down to change the coax feeder and raise it up a few extra meters.. now I want to leave it alone 😂

Another think I had the ea version quite expensive but was a pain to tune. But this version is cheaper and better to tune in all the bands. I never been interested in 6mt but with kind antenna I had lots fun in digital and phone. 73 de 2E0BJL

@@marcoplacidi9975 I had considered the EAntennas one, but the price put me off. Seems like I made the right choice then. 6m/4m are lots of fun during the Sporadic E season 😁

Regarding the noise: what's the coax length and have you considered using a balanced ladder line instead?
@M0JCQsSOTAChannel
@M0JCQsSOTAChannel 3 жыл бұрын
The coax run is about 20 meters from the shack. I don't have any noise issues as I'm now using good quality coax. Ladder Line would be difficult over the run :)
