Hey there, I love your videos. I'm an alumnus of JSU as well as The Marching Southerners. The excellence, in my opinion is because of only two directors Dr. David L Walter's 1961-1991 and Dr Kenneth Bodiford 1991-present . Ken was the drum major when i was marching color-guard. It's crazy how he has grown the program. In my day we marched around 240. Today it's a staggering 528 members. Honestly it's a med tough guard audition , the Marching Ballarinas is a class, get an A your in. The rest just show up. it's a college band so pretty open. Practice is honestly 4:30-6:30 m t w and F and 4;30-7:30 thursdays for pep rally's in the end It was without a doubt the time of my life, lifelong friends , lifelong framily! When I marched with them back in the early 2000's, practice during the school year was maybe 2 hours a day

@@guardgirlreacts I dont, but music for all actually just announced a service with all of their boa recordings from the past 3 years. It costs money but I imagine some will end up on KZbin in the upcoming days haha.

The show is entitled “Reflection”. So they had to put in the selection from Mulan because of the title, but the other selections were actually picked by alumni and are pieces that the group has performed over the tenure of Dr. Bodiford being director, which has been there since 1994. So it was a REFLECTION of years that he’s been there

I am a member of the southerners and in this show we were unable to perform our ballad. so this was only 3/4ths of the show that we would normally perform.

We didn't have the ballad on this run so no slowing down this time. It was also freezing this day, and I don't think we had our best run lol. Thanks for the support!
