Proud JT high school band alum class of 2001. We played this piece my freshman year 98 as honor band at the U of I superstate competition. I am on trumpet. This was my favorite piece. I remember countless hours in the band room trying to perfect this song. When we finally reached what we thought was perfection and made it through the piece landing perfectly on the final note, The Greatest director and teacher of all time Mr. Ted Lega would simply say "something like that". He taught me that perfection should never be mentally achieved or claimed. Greatness and perfection should be something you are always striving for... This way you never stop pushing yourself to become better. He did not just teach us about the notes on the page. He thought us about the music that was not written.

Did you by any chance know Donald Stinson?

This is absolutely fantastic. It is an honor to have been a part of the history of this band.
