He was incredible in the all star games. It was I think the only time he threw hard as he could, that and the playoffs. They would load up with lefthanders, but his screwball was effective.

To me it was the legendary Mets sportscaster, the late Bob Murphy who dubbed Marichal as The Dominican Dandy. And he was realliy an elegant, stylish ballplayer in everything he did on the baseball field. He was a showman in the best sense of the word. Watching Marichal pitch was like watching a ballet dancer perform. Numbers, statistics don't lie. In 2023, at age 86, and still with us, fortunately, Juan Marichal remains as the best, greatest Latin-American pitcher of all time in the Big Leagues.
