Seems like a lovely guy. Most of the referees down the years have walked around the table with faces like slapped arses waiting for a chance to give a player or someone in the crowd a bollocking. He's one of the few who seems to have a bit of warmth to him.

He’s also the only one I’ve seen recently to enforce rules that keep the game flowing - Shaun Murphy stalemate situation and encouraging Mark Selby to take his shot after 3 minutes thinking time are 2 situations that come to mind

Judd came of age as a sports personality this year. He showed a lot of genuine humility in his interviews. Bags of fight on the table and no little skill albeit not his A game. The williams match was a classic and the fight back in the final really was first rate. He may have lost but he gained millions of fans imo with his play and his words and approach. Snooker is in good hands.

I remember about three or four years ago when some know alls were saying that he would never win a World Championship 🏆. He proved them wrong reaching two finals in three years, winning one. And he has also won the other Triple Crown events. That badge on his right shoulder isn't there for nothing; there have only been eleven players who have earned the privilege to wear it.

Ben Williams was the ref when O'Sullivan farted in a match during lock down, and O'Sullivan tried to blame him... You could tell it was O'Sullivan because as soon as the "parp" went, Williams side stepped out of harms way! :D He was howling and trying his hardest to keep his face straight afterwards! :D He comes across as a "lads lad" of a referee, if you get what I mean...
