All of this is so depressing to me…. I am so blessed and so thankful for my adult children and the fact that they have never had any drug/alcohol problems. Between them I have 5 healthy and happy grandchildren. This is not bragging, this is to say that we are truly blessed. I thank God everyday.

Same with me. Two amazing grown daughters who have great lives with their husbands and six grandchildren, three boys, three girls. I also have an almost seventeen year old son who has yet to cause me any stress. I’m not bragging either, and I am very aware that these things could change at any point. I’m just knocking on wood at this point hoping things stay this good .

I’m an addict (sober 1 year 7 months) and I want to let you know that when I read this, I don’t think it’s bragging at all! I think it’s great! In sobriety, I get so many opportunities to marvel at how awesome life without substance use is, and I sometimes wish more people who ARENT addicts could have those same feelings even though they might not have firsthand knowledge of the other side of things.

​@claremizusawa I agree with you 100000%! Being an addict (6 years clean), hearing things like this also make me extremely happy! Knowing that there's people/ families that don't have to experience the hell drug use brings is awesome! Especially when children are involved. And yes, being on the other side of things and having a clearer view gives us an appreciation that one wouldn't know unless they've experienced the darker side 😔

Omg, poor baby Summer 🥺 she’s lucky to be alive with that exposure. This is horrifying! In this case, parents should be charged criminally for that poison in her system.

IMO, The court needs to use a different translator/interpreter (court certified). Interpreter should be translating everything said both ways throughout the hearing. Translation protects the rights of the parent/defendant and the justice system.

They made an error in hiring a translator not certified in the language. They made the decision to proceed because it would have actually been negative for the parties to have to come back another day. If it was a final or something that requires a much more accurate record, they would have had no choice but to adjourn. In this case it was discretionary to not further prejudice either side. They'll have the appropriate interpreter going forward.

I’ve always wondered why Superior Healtplan is on these hearings…superior is a kind of Medicaid in Texas. Why would someone’s health insurance, state paid or not, be involved?

They observe several courts now to be a resource to help access and know about services that are covered. They're coming in handy here and there. It's a new program having them present to assist and observe the cases. They have access to wait lists and eligibility info as well that the court doesn't immediately have

Hmmmm, everyone bitches about appropriateness of dress in zoom hearings, looking at comments, no one has a problem with a lawyer showing up in court in a tee shirt? I’m disappointed in you guys……🤷🏼‍♂️
