@@nelsta1489 Nope. You don't understand. AT ALL. The owner of said dog will always be responsible for attacks they do on other dogs. In law dogs are considered property. Just like you have to pay the damages if you hit someone else's car, you have to pay for damages that occured when YOUR dog (property) damaged/hurt another dog (someone else's property). Dogs who are properĺy trained and kept does NOT fight like that unless they're being attacked themselves. Hence, you become liable and has to pay. When your property damage someone else's property, you are RESPONSIBLE. Simple as that, that law is not difficult to understand at all. They did nothing wrong and their dogs were on a leach. The defendant's dog was not. IF your dog is available for other dogs to meet, you bear the responsibility in being a watchful owner in case something like this happens. The defendant wasn't being responsible. If your dog attacks someone else, you have the responsibility to be there and get your dog away from the other. That didn't happen, the plaintiff had to get the defendant's dog off of their dogs HEAD.
