He's a REAL Judge, not a TV Judge. Which TV that you've seen, sent someone to jail. Already said he took a pay cut for what he's doing.... to help his community. I'll bet he's not interested. He needs more Subscribers and he'll be fine

Love this channel and love this judge! When I was in law school back in 1985, I didn't have the internet or youtube. Every single law student in their criminal law class should BE REQUIRED TO WATCH THIS CHANNEL. A great resource.

Why doesn't UH award this judge an alumni award for distinguished service to the public?

In addition to being the best Judge in the USA his respect for transparency by allowing cameras speaks volumes. In contrast to Federal courts which hate transparency.. 49:43 doesn't he have the right to face his accusers? Where are they? Toss it!

I think I finally figured out what the one two and three in bonds are. How many times it's been changed or the were no shows
@actuariallurker96502 күн бұрын
It's how many BVs- bond violations the person has. So if someone doesn't appear once and fails their drug tests twice and therefore has 3 total bond revocations this Judge will set the bond to 2503 or 5003 or 10003 etc. So you are spot on that this his way of keeping track whether someone is screwing up their parole or their pre-trial release

So you need 3 thefts before it becomes a felony count? That 3 strike crap seems too lenient 🤷♂️ 2 strikes is giving enough 3 is too many. Just saying

Someone has never been in anyone else’s shoes but their pretty privileged owns little easy lifestyle sandals🙄…. & it certainly shows 😮💨 giving people chances is a humane way of dealing with problems or things that need to be addressed, but you want everyone to just be tossed away & branded for life as who they were at during their not so brightest/ darkest moments & nothing more?? I’m sure you’ve benefited from a bit of mercy at some point in your life, don’t condemn others so quickly. You don’t know what it may do for them or how life could turn out… relax sir, it’s not even your case. If you willing die on that hill regardless… please say it with your chest when the day comes that it might be your child or loved one who needs a bit of a break, mercy & leniency. 😊
@actuariallurker96502 күн бұрын
It depends....if you steal a pack of gum it still counts as one of the strikes that gets you 2-10 in the state penitentiary....thats pretty harsh especially if some of these perps are homeless stealing a few bucks of food to avoid dying. Three breaking into cars and stealing cat convertors and stereos causing thousands of damages is another thing. It shouldn't be a crime to be mentally ill and homeless on the street. Someone who is able bodied just criming over and over- I agree with you

You have to balance between the available jail capacity, recover program offerings, severity of the case and the chance for the best outcome. I would trust the judge to handle it correctly.

When the judge gives persons of color the “ your life is harder because of your skin color” speech, how do successful POC feel after doing all the hard work to become successful!?
@stephenoffutt7037Күн бұрын
I agree with most things he says and does but when he gets on his people of color crap it annoys me. Life is hard no matter the color of your skin and to tell people it's harder just because of their skin color that gives people an excuse for bad behavior. Saying those things to people does them a disservice and only adds to the difficulty of life in general.

My main complaint is that the microphones pick up every cotton pick and sound in the courtroom and so it’s very distracting very noisy and actually I think unprofessional because I’m trying to hear the story, I’m trying to hear the judge, and I’m trying to hear the criminal and I can’t because it’s just one darn noise after another. Is there any way to fix this?
@drdre43972 күн бұрын
You can use AI to remove the background noise. It's not made for TV, it's just a Webcam meant to capture and document the cases throughout the day. How on earth is it unprofessional? Do you think the audio we hear is the same as the courtroom? Have you ever spent an extended period of time in a courtroom?
