With the guy appealing the Bryant recusal denial: Anyone who watches Bryant's court knows that the State gets one chance to produce the complaining witness (which they never can on old cases), then the public defender requests dismissal of the case and Bryant dismisses. All his SovCit nonsense is just holding up the quick conclusion to his matter, which would be in his favor.

I have to say, I don't think he was disrespectful in the first video and he is clearly not a sovereign citizen. He just does not know what to argue. He is trying to argue subject matter jurisdiction which in a way makes sense as he is saying the statute of limitations ran and there is no jurisdiction to try him. He is missing a fundamental point, one is about the courts authority and one is a defense, but it's clear that is what he is arguing as a non-attorney and the judge should have picked up on that with him being pro-se. At least in Florida the standard is fairly clear, when going against a pro-se you are expected as an attorney to give them a little leniency.

The Judge Vann clips are great, they make a fun team doing a rather thankless job. I got to work with the State Attorney's Office in Escambia County years ago and we had a similar relaxed and enjoyable relationship. I think we helped maybe 150 poorly prepared for life young adults, new to the Navy and responsibility as an adult, learn and fix situations that kept them from going to jail and getting double jeopardy from the military.

This looks similar to Oregon's DUII laws. This is just a hearing in traffic court to decide if his license is suspended due to his refusal to take breath test. Not whether he is guilty of DUII. He was probably also charged with a criminal charge of DUII for which he can get an attorney. From what I heard, I would likely take that criminal DUII to trial. He has a decent shot of convincing a jury he was not under the influence.

As a Jamaican I can speak to this. I can almost bet that they overstayed their visa. Additionally, it easy to "buy" a license in Jamaica. My family used to have a place in Harbour Springs. Absolutely beautiful. We also would camp at Petoskey State Park. I don't live in Michigan anymore but I still live to go up north there and visit.
