Also, isn't giving false testimony during a criminal investigation considered obstruction of justice, even if not under oath? And affidavit which states: "My friend told me he saw Mr. X tear up ballots at the ABC precinct" will be rejected as hearsay. It would be rejected as evidence if asserted by a sworn witness.

Judges are not investigators! They are referees. Not advocates. Go read the rules of civil procedure. A motion for summary judgment isn't even logical until all of the moving side's evidence is before the court. A motion for summary judgment is not the same as a motion to dismiss: the former comes later in a case and the latter comes at the beginning of a case.

I think the point that they were trying to argue is that they believed the evidence to be true, because the witnesses were under the penalty of perjury - so the assumption is that someone wouldn't perjure themselves. Any affidavits they could prove to be true weren't to be admitted as evidence (although they seem to have been mistakenly sent in). Not the best argument in the world but I don't think that amounts to malpractice. Ultimately you have to act on your client's behalf. You might suspect that they're lying to you, but unless the client straight out says one thing and instructs you to argue another, the lawyer's job is to argue their client's case.

They're not necessarily committing perjury. That would only be the case if they knowingly submitted false evidence. In the video, it's clear that they tried to weed out evidence they knew was false. It's not actually a lawyer's job to prove whether your client's evidence is true or not, that's up to the court. The lawyer is there to argue their client's case to the best of their ability. It's only if the client tells the lawyer one thing and instructs them to argue another (false) thing that there would be a problem. If it's a hopeless case then it will become apparent in court - as has happened with this and most of Trump's lawsuits.
