I like what she said about still liking to look at him when he walks in a room. My wife and I are both 71 and began dating at age 17. So I understand her feeling about that. We change and hope our partner accepts those changes as they happen. And we hopefully will try our best to do the same. When you are very young you can't imagine what your older version will look like or be like. Plus I think a long marriage, in the end, is what you have gone through together....the births of your children, the, holidays spent in the house you still live in, the deaths of parents. And you realize at a certain point no one else on the entire planet knows anything about these memories.

My husband was happy when "I fed him" and let him alone. He was never unfaithful and was not interested in other women. Our problems began when I told him I needed someone to talk to. I did not think I was asking for much. He accused me of interfering in his card nights. I knew all the guys. All addicted to card playing. I finally left and felt at peace. He was miserable because he had to cook his own meals.

My mum, who is now 87 and is healthy and lives in her own home and does her own gardening etc., has been with the same lovely man for 35yrs. Their secret is that they have never lived together. He lives about 40kms away in his own home, he is 90 and doesn’t look older than 70 and mum looks much younger than her years. He comes down every Tuesday and stays, and also the weekends. Up until Covid they went away every winter up to Queensland together for 3 months with their caravan. He is a lovely man and is a part of our family and mum is a part of his. She says that not living together has been the key, she can decorate anyway she wants in her own home, she has her own money and he has his. They have travelled overseas together often too over the years.

Well I do actually, I had a boyfriend that we’ve known for each other for 30+ years and I miss him deeply. We split last summer and I think that we still love and respect each other but honestly it was just for us. It wasn’t really I don’t feel like it was meant to be because, I figured out some things about my personal life and you know I wanted him to have something that I couldn’t give him and I hope that he finds I hope he finds that for himself because he deserves it and I hope that he finds happiness with whoever he decides to connect with later. I still love and respect him and I do miss him, but he’s better off with somebody who can give him what I can’t.

I have watched Judge Judy for many of my 75 years. It's always been fun and interesting but lately I am seeing her more as a bully and being unnecessarily rude to the people on her show. She is too argumentative and even trying to start fights with the litigants. I guess she does it to make the show more entertaining but I think it's just rude. Respect for others is what's most important. Even on a TV show.

My problem with Judge Judy and people who operate as she does, is that she thinks in dichotomies and doesn't stop to think she might be wrong. "Women nest and men don't" is an example of binary nonsense, but she believes that and employs it in her analyses. She often makes pronouncements about things she knows nothing about. Her assumptions and lack of nuance can do a lot of damage with her power.
