It doesn't even seem like he lied. If you re-watch it, he literally just answered the questions as she was asking them and never backtracked. When she said, "did you do your online schooling today", he answered no, followed by "I had a family emergency". Then she questions him about the emergency, and he explains it to her and how it happened out of nowhere then she berates him for not knowing where his parents were all day. It's like she's refusing to acknowledge the fact that the family emergency wasn't an all-day event and it occurred unexpectantly, like he said. It's entirely possible that they all met up at the hospital later in the day and that's why he didn't know what his parents were doing since he obviously wasn't with them prior to the medical emergency.
@johnsmi21311 ай бұрын
@@nissan_skyline This was filmed in the evening. You're wrong. Why would he go to the hospital because of an emergency that was so pressing, he had to miss "Judge Judy" but his parents didn't go to the hospital with him? His brother may have a medical condition, may even be in the hospital (but he wasn't), but 1) he didn't spend the morning with him and 2) it wasn't an emergency or else everyone would have canceled their plans that day to see him. The reality is he was just chilling at home, too lazy to drive to be on TV because he was the defendant and didn't feel like it. So a producer -- who is in charge of problem-solving -- had to drive to his home in L.A. and pick him up to guarantee he'd get there. All while the crew had to sit around doing nothing 'cause they couldn't leave 'til that case was filmed.

EDIT - I have worked in healthcare my entire life…in doctors office, in an ER, as a paramedic etc. This comment was meant to be a joke. I fully understand the backend of a doctor visit. The sad thing is he learned nothing at all after she explained everything he said "But it was a family emergency". He's a lost cause. Never will learn from his mistakes and doesn't listen to advice.

He may have been telling the truth. She had asked him what his parents are doing, as in the present not the past tense, which is why he didn't know.

Ya I’m sure the parents have an enabling mentality with this one. 22 years old and stumbling over words cuz you couldn’t be on time for an adult obligation when you have no full time job and living in someone else’s home. Zero reason to not be on time.

I’d really hate to be in front of her in court with the world watching. I’d probably cry I’d be so shook up and get a long lecture.

Hold on, Judge Judy: There is NOTHING wrong with attending school online! I did and graduated with honors! I can work the same career as someone who got in a CAR and went to class. Let's not be ignorant!
@angie3464 Жыл бұрын
Yep. My husband got his bachelors online, as did I. We have 2 kids and wanted to make a better life for them while they’re still young. Also, we started school once the pandemic hit and we couldn’t go in person even if we wanted to. But online was what worked with 2 babies. And now we have bough our first home with our hard work.
@lynne709 Жыл бұрын
Exactly! My dad got his masters degree online. Not everyone is able to put their priorities to the side in order pursue an in person degree program and those people shouldn’t be shamed for using non traditional methods to get their education.

I think she just zeroes in on every word trying to catch someone in a lie. She heard him initially say "go to school" and I think she assumed that meant physically going somewhere. I don't think she was trying to imply that remote courses don't count as going to school.
@someonesomething9103 Жыл бұрын
I think her point was that when he is going to school online he can do things on his own time. He has more flexibility with time. So he is living a life where he doesn’t take into consideration other people. Including not paying money back
@AndrewSBaker Жыл бұрын
Her focus is ultimately about time, and so him taking classes online means that he has much more control over his time than if he had to go out and commute to school. Don't evaluate her commentary about online education with no regard for her underlying point about his abuse of everyone's time, and his general disregard for truth and accuracy.
