Statistically speaking, if you were late to the court for a case, most judges would rule in favor of the other individual by default, unless by some sheer miracle, the judge shows leniency and decides to recall the case. Otherwise, it's a good lesson as to why it is so important to show up to court on time.

Having respect for time comes with maturity. Growing up, I remember being in the 7th grade and my teacher Mrs. Weaver gave me a jewel 💎. I was late to school for like the 4th or 5th time. I gave the excuse that I had to catch 2 buses and a train, which was true. But she said “listen, that’s an excuse whether you understand it or not and if you don’t figure out why now, you’ll be late for the rest of your life”. It took me a while, but I finally understood that in my mid 20s and now make it my DUTY to be on time to anything I commit to. Thank you Mrs. Weaver! ❤️

I bet the producer that picked him up reminded him that: 1. He signed a contract. You can't just change the date on a whim, and especially not the day of. He wouldn't have gotten his payment for appearing and maybe they even could have sued him for breach of contract. 2. If he didn't settle the case on the show, the plaintiff could take the claim to real small claims court where he'd have to pay real money when he loses, instead of having the show pay for it. So he'd be out double. I bet that family emergency dried up real quick 😂
