Custody cases should be simple. If both parents are equally fit, 50-50 custody with neither paying child support. If one parent is unfit for whatever reason, custody to the other parent with reasonable visitation, if possible and child support from the noncustodial parent. If parents will not agree to 50-50 custody, then it goes to whichever parent is financially better able to care of the child with the other paying at least some child support. And if one parent ever interferes with the time the kid is supposed to be with the other parent, the other parent is immediately given full custody.

@@celestep4891 Nowhere did I say it did. I SAID once it has been determined that custody should be 50-50 but the parties refuse to agree to it, THEN primary custody should be awarded to the person who is better off financially. If both parties are equally fit, but they refuse to agree to 50-50 custody, why would any judge award primary custody to the parent least able to provide for the child? That would be ridiculous.

All those stunts she pulled on him with false reports and restraining orders were more damaging against their child than they ever would be against the father. @ComaLies225

I know someone who had children with an abusive man, it got so bad she had to call the police on him one night. They got divorced and she ended up getting full custody with dad getting weekend visits. This woman, who was verbally and physically abused allowed their children to visit the dad and never spoke ill of him while they were kids. She made sure her kids saw their dad and speak with dad despite her personal issues with Dad. Eventually Dad stopped making an effort to bond with the kids and he ended up working while he had the kids. Over time, the visits became less frequent. The kids eventually grew to be adults and none speak to their dad. One of them doesn’t consider him his dad and cut contact while the other is friendly but not close. I’m sorry I’m going off a tangent but you tend to see parents who want the best for their children based on their actions. While I get it’s not easy coparenting and being friendly with an ex, there NEEDS to be some sort of compromise to benefit the kids, otherwise they suffer the most

@@rabbit3212010 Having worked in the family court for more years than I care to admit, I can testify that family court is heavily biased in favor of women. Any man who wins custody when it is disputed is extremely rare. A woman has to nearly be a serial killer before the man is awarded custody. And on those rare occasions when it does happen, women almost never have to pay any child support. The reason there is so much media coverage when a female celebrity has to pay child support is because it so rarely happens.

She was so lucky to have gotten 50/50 custody with her former partner over their child. After all of this nonsense, she’s going to lose all custody over him. And you can’t say that you stored so much stuff at someone’s house (without paying for storage) and expect someone to believe that you didn’t live there. And then to claim that it’s your property… You bought that stuff for the improvement of the dwelling. That means that as long as someone involved in the relationship is living there, then they don’t owe you for it. If they sold the property with all of the belongings inside, then that’s where things become more complicated and you might have a case.
@karloftinker2832
@karloftinker2832 2 жыл бұрын
Let's hope for the child's sake she can learn from this. Because, as you and JJ have pointed out she could lose custody all together. I think 50/50 is a good outcome for the child. Asd far as her stuff is concerned, she might have had a better chance of getting some of it back if she had been more honest.

@@karloftinker2832 its the standard in many states. It doesnt work. You can ask my son who is in his twenties now how he liked living in two places. His father was abusive and he had a substance abuse problem that resurfaced from his past. My son paid the price. Women like these make the rest of us look like scammers. My son went without eating many days. I hope God has mercy on these judges and the decisions they make.

@@dawnaustin4556 I don't care about your experience and related bias. And I certainly do not care about single mothers over single fathers. That is just my opinion and I guess my bias. But from where I live, here are some facts: Single fathers are, more likely to live above the poverty line, less likely to move, present their children at school with less absenteeism, less likely to introduce multiple partners into the household, less likely to present the child at accident and emergency depts, more likely to be in paid work, LESS LIKELY TO HAVE DRUG OR ALCOHOL DEPENDANCY ISSUES, less likely to have children witness family violence. These are some of the facts that inform my bias. But as a rational person I acknowledge the research and the science suggests that children in split relationships are best cared for in a 50/50 custody environment where possible. Most people get that. But you only want to engage your bias. And that's your choice. But it is also why judges will no longer listen to people like you.

What a vindictive vile woman. I only wish my daughters dad wanted to be a father as much as this guy. She needs to realize how lucky she is to have that. Growing up without a dad is hard, and I hate that my daughter is facing the same emptiness that I felt. Women who do such evil things, just to make the dads life hell, really don't deserve to have custody because they can't see past their own anger enough to realize how much that hurts the child.
