He asked Gov Pataki to cancel the election he lost to David Dinkins so he could remain mayor. When that didn’t work, he suggested “co-mayoring” with Dinkins because the world needed him. He was a mess then and an absolute mess now. Enough already.

The more I've seen of how rich defendants get delays, avoid jail time for overt contempt, avoid penalties for failing to follow court orders, push back against court decisions and sentences ...it just wrecks my faith in our judicial system. Why are these people not held to the same standards as everyone else? If this shit continues, we're going to see a lot more people pursuing vigilante justice. Not just against corporate executives, but against rich criminals and other wealthy people that have repeatedly worked to make money while ruining the lives of many other people. If Rudy dies, his estate will go to the people he owes money to. That seems like a faster, cheaper, and vastly more efficient way for all of this to be resolved, and good riddance. We need to make our justice system more fair and more efficient, or things will get worse.

Except in this particular case, there’s no room for intervention or intercession by the person who becomes President at 12:00 pm on January 20. Giuliani was not a government employee when he made the defamatory statements so there’s no basis for the US to intervene under the Westfall Act. This is an everyday debtor-creditor case whose only notable feature is the name of the defendant (and perhaps his totally PITA tactics throughout the litigation). If Trump intervened in some way, he’d throw debtor-creditor law upside down. Imagine how the money center banks would view that situation - the blowback would be so fierce, Trump’s heavily lacquered hair would be blown straight back.
