I think DB really thought a segment of the community was going to support him. If you noticed when the detectives were questioning him they were very interested on his feelings of oppression. I’m not saying it played a part but the detectives thought it might be. Again I think he thought a certain segment would support him.

Always remember, Darrell Brooks didn’t have a single person come to the courtroom in show of support his ENTIRE TRIAL. Not one family member came. No friends. None of his children. None of his kid’s moms. Nobody came the entire month. Not one day. This guy lived 40 years and terrorized every single person who met him. His own mother lived in the same city and still didn’t even drive to the courtroom for the sentencing. That’s how much he was hated.

I agree Billy, I believe DB has abused his family terribly especially the women. His mom is probably celebrating that he can’t threaten her any longer. Now she will have to deal with all the collect calls from jail. I think there may be some physical abuse but definitely psychologically. He’s a mess.

@@corky3550 I've heard though hope it won't happen, he has a rare extreme rare chance of appeal granted down the road. He has upcoming trials for charges against him prior to the parade attack. I watched pre trial updates on both from two weeks ago. Both are set for additional updates in March. 1 shots fired 2 running over Erika's leg and injuring her. He had attorneys and negotiations with the DA are on going. His attorney said DB might be pro SE next time. Negotiation is not going well with either case. Court is pushing for conviction on the other charges. This way if the extreme rare chance of appeal to become reality he'd still be incarcerated and stay in prison. Until appeal is complete and overturned he will never get out. Appeal overturned ( he continues to serve his original sentence.

I know this video is 6 months old, but at the time I did a little research and discovered that only 2 counties in WI use 'shock shackles' and Waukesha Co. IS NOT one of them. If you go back to some if the earliest videos taken during the very first days of the trial you will find videos where the camera panned around, behind Darrell Brooks, while he is wearing orange jail clothes, and if you zoom in you can clearly see what shackles he is chained with. AND THEY ARE 'SOFT SHACKLES'! Go and find the video evidence for yourself, you can find pictures of 'soft shackles' and 'shock shackles' if you Google them, and compare for yourself. Nothing about the events of 11/21/2021 has changed this man in the slightest. He is damaged goods, angry and heartless.

Not only that, the way he explained them was stupid. He says that if he moves to one side or if he moves to the other side that he'll be shocked. They activate at the discretion of the judge. The judge tells the deputy or whoever has the actual button, to activate the shackles therefore shocking him to the ground.

See that's why she kept giving him so much leeway. In order to learn his mannerisms, his greatest hits, how he says something and what he says, she has to let him loose. Because if you notice around the what 12th or 11th day of the trial? She recognized his tails. She reads him like a poker player. And now she knows how to start playing him against himself. And eventually he gets to the point that he's lost all of his rights and the only thing he could do is spit the same nonsense over and over again. The government should create a system on the holidays where you are allowed, at the cost of 1 dollar per time, to activate the shock collar for one second on an criminal who was elected by the people to have this occur. For the first 10 times they do this, it must be Derril Brookes. but as to who is eligible for being able to be shocked, there should be some standards they must meet (relating to both the severity of the crimes in terms of the number of people impacted or hurt, I think either several (3+) violent charges/crimes or non-violent crimes where human victims received damages of at least $500,000 (thinking SBF or other massive scammers)) Is this cruel and unusual punishment? Yes. will it never occur and rightfully so? Also yes. Is it fun to think about? Absolutely

I think though that even if this lying pos had have been wearing shock type shackles, they only would have been utilised in certain circumstances, such as an attempt to charge the Judge or the prosecution etc and not just because he couldn't keep his mouth shut.

I've read that he was released from other charges and sentencing due to his SOVEREIGN mess. The other court didn't want to deal with him and his BS so they let him off. And the other 10-12 jail and prison stays didn't help him learn

I wish I would have been just for a day, I'd have gagged and tied him up just like he kept asking the judge to do instead of putting him in the other courtroom!! And I surely wouldn't have only kept him that way for five friggin minutes the way this ridiculous judge would take him out and bring him right back in a few minutes later knowing dang good and well he was just going to pull the same ole crap! Nope he'd have been bound and gagged for the remainder of the day!! I would've treated him with the same care he treated these victims!!

I hear the term gaslighting thrown around quite a bit but his saying as an absolute fact that it was a shock device and telling the judge she’s wrong regardless of the factual information she received is gaslighting. Think about it, she knew with certainty what they were but his shouting persistence and providing details to prove his story could sway a different person. Gaslighting. He knew what they were, he’s been to court many times prior to this from whatever felonies he committed and at least most of the time had the same restraints as these. I wouldn’t doubt if he told some friends about a so called shock device to make him look more dangerous and feared. I don’t think I’ve felt this much disgust about someone I never met. Waukesha Co. didnt utilize shock devices. At the time of this trial i believe only 2 or 3 counties in the entire state of WI utilized shock devices if necessary. He just wanted to stall stall stall.
