The hilarious part about "when you tell the truth you don't have to have a good memory" is that you actually DO need a good memory otherwise you can't remember the truth and you're forced to make shit up.

If you cannot be prosecuted for being dishonest, she needs to institute a fine for lying to her court that's equivalent to 25-50% of appearance earnings.

@@jessicaslater4243 It's a lot easier to remember things you actually experienced than stories you made up on the fly. And..."otherwise you can't remember the truth and you're forced to make shit up"...um, ok, maybe that's how _you_ handle not remembering something...most people just say "I don't remember".

@@nwezetx1 LOL, you think she actually wants to discourage people from lying? It's not a court, it's a TV show. She gets a lot of mileage from catching people in lies (even when sometimes the "lies" are just her jumping to conclusions, and other times they come from the producers browbeating the -contestants- "litigants" into changing their written complaint to create better drama for TV).

Well here's why, judge judy asked him what he does, says he works online, asked where his parents were, said they are doing some stuff they do everyday, ie saying they're working, said he was late because his brother was in the hospital, then said he was with his parents in the hospital, so he's kinda making up stuff as he's going along, trying to keep up with the story he made as why he was late, he even said he called the producer asking to postpone or reschedule the court hearing at a later time, but doesn't make sense since the producer went to pick him up at his house

It doesn't even seem like he lied. If you re-watch it, he literally just answered the questions as she was asking them and never backtracked. When she said, "did you do your online schooling today", he answered no, followed by "I had a family emergency". Then she questions him about the emergency, and he explains it to her and how it happened out of nowhere then she berates him for not knowing where his parents were all day. It's like she's refusing to acknowledge the fact that the family emergency wasn't an all-day event and it occurred unexpectantly, like he said. It's entirely possible that they all met up at the hospital later in the day and that's why he didn't know what his parents were doing since he obviously wasn't with them prior to the medical emergency.
@johnsmi213
@johnsmi213 7 ай бұрын
@@nissan_skyline This was filmed in the evening. You're wrong. Why would he go to the hospital because of an emergency that was so pressing, he had to miss "Judge Judy" but his parents didn't go to the hospital with him? His brother may have a medical condition, may even be in the hospital (but he wasn't), but 1) he didn't spend the morning with him and 2) it wasn't an emergency or else everyone would have canceled their plans that day to see him. The reality is he was just chilling at home, too lazy to drive to be on TV because he was the defendant and didn't feel like it. So a producer -- who is in charge of problem-solving -- had to drive to his home in L.A. and pick him up to guarantee he'd get there. All while the crew had to sit around doing nothing 'cause they couldn't leave 'til that case was filmed.

I think I’m going to play this speech to my doctor every single time I go. I arrive 15min early as required by them and then just end up sitting in the waiting room an hour past my appointment time. EDIT - I have worked in healthcare my entire life…in doctors office, in an ER, as a paramedic etc. This comment was meant to be a joke. I fully understand the backend of a doctor visit. Patients take extra time, the scribe is a no show and the doctor needs to do their own charting which takes forever, people show up late and causes a cascade….it was just supposed to be funny. That's not entirely fair because doctors can at best make estimates at treatment required for their patients and how long it will take to properly issue medical certificates and make sure the patient leaves in the best health that can possibly be given in their short timeframe. This also dosen't take into account that other people are late to their appointment which adds up to why you got shown in later.

when JJ said that ALL of the people in the audience works full-time, I would challenge that, the same with her statement of "they don't go to school online, they go to school". I bet more than one person rolled their eyes looking busy. I went to college twice, my second degree was part-time because I was working full-time, half the classes were online, and I got a degree in computer science from one of the best Universities in Europe like that. My ex had a degree and a Masters in psychotherapy the same way, mostly online from one of the best universities, no problem. You need to apply yourself and do a lot more research on your own, but there's noting wrong with online courses.

2:11 This is me when my family or friends come to NYC from the Caribbean or Latin America. It's like they have their own clock that's has its own special time zone so they always 30-40 minutes late for everything and act like its normal to be late SMH

I agree, I’m doing online school but that’s only because I work 12 hrs at a hospital and it’s more convenient for me but I’m always on time. Sometimes judge Judy drops the ball on shit she says sometimes

@@classicstorm probably because this isn’t the first time she has said ignorant things when it comes to education. Like in one case where she talks down to this mother about her homeschooling her children and how she’s not qualified enough 😒

I mean to be completely honest, even if he was at the hospital, what difference does 40 minutes make? If it’s something so severe, you’d just not show up to court and take the L. If it’s NOT a life threatening situation, you would just leave the hospital 40 minutes earlier than he did and then come back when you’re done!!

Ya I’m sure the parents have an enabling mentality with this one. 22 years old and stumbling over words cuz you couldn’t be on time for an adult obligation when you have no full time job and living in someone else’s home. Zero reason to not be on time.

JJ is right as hell, being late at all is disrespectful, being 40 min late is ridiculously disrespectful, and he’s obviously lying lying lying. BUT there’s nothing wrong with online classes and for JJ to imply it’s lazy to not physically go to school was a little much. 2:49
