There is a really good lemony one pot meal called Lebanese lentil soup and it is AMAZING!!! it's basically just vegetables ( onion, garlic, potatoes, carrots, spinach, celery, cilantro )and green lentils. You add water or vegetable stock and let it simmer for one hour and then at the end add as much lemon as you want !!! Give it a try in pt 2 maybe

Sorry but do you have a good recipe to rec? 👀
@corniflower13462 жыл бұрын
@@lilasophie2950 This is the recipe that I personally use : Cut 1 onion and 2 small potatoes into small cubes, cut 2 small carrots and one celery into rounds, roughly chop 3 gloves of garlic, handful of cilantro ( or parsley), and handful of spinach. Add 3 tablespoons of olive oil to the pan on medium heat, add the garlic and onion first, cook for a few minutes ( until soft and slightly yellow) and then add all your chopped vegetables, add some cumin spice ( not necessary )and salt. Add one cup of lentils to the pot after cooking the veggies for approximately 5 minutes. Cook everything on medium to low heat for another five minutes. Add 2 cups of water or vegetable broth, or a mixture of both, and boil until the veggies and lentils are soft, and the water content has thickened and slightly reduced.( U can also ad water throughout if it is reducing too fast ) ( 45~1 hour ). Turn the heat off add lemon and salt to taste ( I prefer it on the sour side ). Tip: soak the lentils overnight or for a few hours in water beforehand. This is just my recipe, if u need more details u can find a few recipes on KZbin or Google, just search : Lebanese lemon lentil soup.

"15 minutes + the amount it takes you to prepare all of the ingredients", I FELT that 🤣. Honestly, every time I'm trying new recipes it takes me like half a day, lol. Because chopping the vegetables, meat and preparing the rest of the ingredients takes forever, more than the cooking itself 🤦🏻♀️.

we have a thing in Egypt called Shorbet A'ads Asfr (yellow lentil soup). its 1 cup of yellow lentils, one red onion (or white but preferably red), one potato, one large carrot and one tomatos, three garlic cloves.. it doesnt matter how you cut it since itll all be blended anyway.make sure you wash the lentils really well. add everything in a pot then cover them with about a cup and half of water.make sure to check on it every once in while because the lentils can drink up the water and burn. let it boil until the potatoes are soft and the lentils have cooked. once its cooked, blend it to your preference. if its thick add water. we like toasting (preferably with ghee) some cut up tradional egyptian bread but you can use pita bread. (ADD SALT AND PEPPER TO TASTE) hope you enjoy !!

When you mentioned Prep time I got flashbacks to when I bought like 5 pounds of beef to cook Milanesas- and it took us almost two hours to even get up to maybe 3 pounds of it before we had to stop 😭 It was delicious- and I'd do it again. But DAMN was it tedious. If you'd ever want to do it, Vincent with uh... less pounds of beef- it's worth it! E.S.P.E.C.I.A.L.L.Y. when it's cold the next day. The flavor explodes in your mouth more than it did when you just finish cooking it. Fresh parsley is always the way to go.
