A tip from someone that does the vegan "schnitzel" a few times per month: use boiling water instead. It gels the oats and becomes easier to form. Also, I like to shape tem into nuggets, much more enjoyable to eat, and I then bake them in the oven

Vincent! You should try balsamic glaze on your ice cream! Sounds wrong but the tanginess really cuts down the sweetness and pairs really well together. My favorite is vanilla ice cream with sliced strawberries and the balsamic glaze drizzled on top! The glaze I make is just balsamic vinegar, a spoonful or two of brown sugar or honey, and if I’m feeling fancy some spices like cinnamon, allspice or cardamom and sometimes thyme. Whatever your heart desires! Then you just let it simmer in a pot until its reduced in half and you’re ready to enjoy!

I just went to Ireland for vacation and was really surprised to see that "scampi" just means shrimp/prawns in Europe and the UK😳 Here in the US, scampi is almost always a dish consisting of shrimp in a lemon & white wine sauce, often served over pasta. I don't personally like shrimp so I'll make just the sauce & pasta, sometimes with chicken thrown in. I think you would really like that sauce, Vincent! Just look up recipes for American shrimp scampi. Oh, and if you don't have a microplane for zesting lemons and are using the kind of zester that gives you little strips of peel, I would highly recommend chopping it up so you get a better distribution of zest throughout whatever dish you're making🤗
@camvin5752 жыл бұрын
Scampi in the UK usually means breaded/battered prawns, is that what you had? I'd love to no the recipe of the lemon and white wine sauce though, if you'd be so kind I would really appreciate it.
@shaunacorrigan93722 жыл бұрын
@@camvin575 Yeah, it was breaded shrimp with chips & peas, totally not what we were expecting! My shrimp scampi recipe (sorry, I don'tknow what all the metric conversions are😅): 1 lb peeled & deveined shrimp 4 Tablespoons olive oil 1 shallot, minced 3-4 cloves garlic, minced Pinch of red pepper flakes (I like to use Korean chili flakes) Zest & juice of 2 lemons 1/2 cup white wine 4 Tablespoons butter, cut in pieces 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped Season shrimp with salt & pepper, saute shallots, garlic, & red pepper for 1 minute then add shrimp, cook until shrimp is almost but not quite cooked through, remove shrimp while leaving oil in the pan. Add lemon zest, juice, & wine and simmer for a couple minutes, then stir in pieces of butter until melted. Add shrimp back to pan & chopped parsley, stir until shrimp is cooked through & well coated. Add salt to taste. Can be served over pasta or with garlic bread. You can leave the shrimp out and it makes a lovely pasta sauce with some parmesan cheese thrown in!🤗

There was a restaurant in Washington called Black Angus and I would get Shrimp Scampi. It was giant prawns in a delicious garlic wine sauce. When we moved and I ordered it, it was the common shrimp on pasta dish. I've never been able to find it like it was in Washington. 😭😭

Hey Vincent! Just jumping in to tell, barilla had to redesign their products because it would claim it's an italian brand, eventho they had to move the producing procedure to america and not using italian ingredients anymore as well because this way it less expensive. So after being charged with false claims, they kinda had to rebrand and that's why the design is different:) just thought someone may want to know
