Only reasons I can think of her being held back by her pc are: if it's a first gen 1060 with 3gb of vram, the fact she only has 8gb of 2400hz ddr4 and that her storage is a 5400 rpm hdd - which is extremely slow in comparison to most drives used these days.

You are complaining he should "be a bit easier" on you, and in the very next sentence you are the one to decide, anything more than that is NOT a "normal budget". 1/3 like low-mid cards, means 2/3 mid-high cards. you are the minority. your cards get the job done, sure, but they will struggle more and more. nobody expects everyone to upgrade once a year, but a 1050ti will not last forever. (also: why even go with such a shitty card? get a used 970 / 970 ti / 980 / 980 ti something for like the same price!) If you say like a used 80$ card instead of a 50$ new card is way above a "normal budget" well, excuse me, then i need to say that you are far more poor than the average gamer, and thats not "the others" fault. If you cant even go 30$ extra for a little bit more performance, how do you even afford games? or pay your electricity bills? at some point an on-board-graphics would be just way better performance for its price and would even run cheaper... So... dont buy shitty stuff and complain about you having shitty stuff. 1050ti is really the worst choice right now in 2020, there are cheaper, way more powerful options, especially when bought used.

Plus the last gen of cards have had horrible value so people who buy in that $250 price range isnt going to jump at a 1660 Super as an upgrade

Astro Kitty 16gb is more than enough lol I got a ryzen 5 3600 with 16 gn ddr4 clocked at 2400 and have had a online class, warzone, youtube and even a stream all at once and was still getting 60 fps which is more than good enough for me

@@volkswagenginetta Depends highly on what version it is. The aboslute most important thing in a pc build is vram. Low on vram? You might as well be throwing money out the window cause that entire build is useless. And every year vram usage goes up for the newest games. Can't think of any major titles from the last 5 years that wouldn't run into at least 4gb of vram usage regardless of settings or resolution as long as it's at least 1080p. The 1060 does have a 6gb version, it also has a horrible 3gb version and if you have that I don't know what to tell you other than this should be your absolute first priority to replace. Cause you're basically suffocating your performance with that. You'll have lag, stuttering, shutdowns, it's going to be unpleasant. So it's really not about clockspeeds or anything like that, just have enough vram.

If your computer is shutting down from launching a game (even if it needs way more vram) then you have some other issue. i have a friend with a 1060 3gb and all of their games run fine. Even red dead 2 at 1080p low settings you get 60fps with that card. go look up any videogame you like and the 3gb will run it fine. I mean seriously people play tripple AAA games on the 3400g no problem and that is basically as strong as a 750 ti. This sounds like a sales pitch instead of advice.

Also, to Kekl at 7:00, if you have room, raise your rad to a higher level than your pump. Right now, with your pump at the highest point, you're trapping air bubbles in the pump, creating poor heat transfer and possible cavitation of the pump. If possible, mounting the rad to the top of the case is the best option.

if you play older games, it'll do just fine. Newer ones, well it depends on the game, most games you can get away with 1080p low settings at 60fps. Some games you get like 40fps even on lowest settings, a 1060 will do 60 in the same game (red dead 2)

But IMO it is definitely time for an upgrade to something like a 1660 super or better, you will get well over double performance and after selling the 960, it's not too expensive of an upgrade. And your current PC should run the new GPU fine (some exceptions for old prebuilts, don't like anything newer than 900 series GPUS)
