Quote from this Video: “We come to our spirituality with a whole host of judgments that don’t have a lot to do with discernment-they are often pretty conditional, quite reactive and quick, and don’t have a lot of consciousness or self-reflection in them.” adyashanti.org

Discernment is the kind of judgment that comes from stillness... Sitting in a park and watching the trees for a couple of hours makes me more intelligent than I am among people...

I’ve been struggling with this a bit lately so perfect timing as always. This past week or so I’ve been wondering whether we can make a ‘judgement’ without being ‘judgmental’? This video helps a lot.

Non reactive discernment is a great Gift for us people, and in its pure form it can be achieved by those with pure hearts and free minds 💖

If you have to judge people. be humble and not self-righteous. There are so many self righteous people these day making themselves feel good with their all knowing judgement. Well that’s my judgment and I’m feeling good about it!

When I get caught up in judging myself 'and unworthiness resides' - I try to remember this - For me the difference between judging and discernment is that - discernment is the 'judge' listening impartially to the defence and the prosecution (with a heart full of compassion) whereas, judgmentalism is the 'judge' putting on a black cap, before passing a death sentence - because he can't think outside of duality. We are not guilty - we are just caught up in reality. 😘

Judgement, like opinions and beliefs, but without attachment or identification.

Seems that discernment is when judgement serves the higher thinking capacity ie for meaning making. And when judgement is taken too seriously by the mind, without reflection or imagination to provide any meaning, it produces more of itself as judgementaism.

Context. This is probably what is missing a lot of times, and people may not even recognize that without context defaulting to objectifying and subsequently judging the person is going to be myopic. Yet in this context for example, one is likely to write Adya with a loaded question without him actually knowing them or their life context in any detail, and at the same time the volume of the correspondence and inquiries also calls for being succinct. Not being reactive may not trigger anything but that in itself doesn't help anyone discern anything. Sadly often much seems to remain not addressed and people can't even seem to accept, even in the moment that they simply don't understand what's going on, and have to resort to the limited perspective of a multiple choice possibility in a limited way of framing things. Even if there is peace, which is probably not going to be as likely today that would just remain superficial in this situation.
