You say Shamelessly, I say “ they gonna learn today”. I like how you said on a previous vid “it’s not always going to be pretty and your gonna have to chain techniques to make it work” Thank you for posting.

Started Judo after 8 years of BJJ and have found a new love. My morning class is Ukemi’s and Uchikomi warm ups hahah I always send people to watch you for Judo for BJJ, love the content!

"Smallish Men", damn, not only are they being thrown, they're also called small. On a more serious note I appreciate the content, always good with some inspiration of what to do in training.

Your tsurite and hikite is on point. The way you use your body very nice. Using combinations and using centrifugal power to create kuzuahi is also nice. Your uchimata is very textbook. I don't see any powerleaks. All in all. I really like your Judo.

I think, but I maybe wrong, the most noticeable difference difference between this & a judo standup session is the lack of grip fighting. Instead of breaking grip & fighting like crazy for a better one, most people let you have what you want - and then you throw.

Dom I feel like you land the moves a lot here. Feels scarier in a tournament to try for it. How do you train it to use it more in the tournament setting?
@DubiousDom3 жыл бұрын
I do Judo tournaments. That's the most effective way to get better at throwing in a tournament setting, because in Judo tournaments there aren't huge consequences relative to failing throws in BJJ tournaments. Next best method is just a metric shit ton of drilling. You need to be doing tons of Nage Komi and rounds where you're throwing constantly without fear of repercussion.

Great work Dom! Do you have any tips on least damaging techniques on uke, specifically street oriented so you can take control without worrying about seriously hurting someone?
@DubiousDom3 жыл бұрын
I think once you're reached a certain level of proficiency, most techniques can be applied safely if you choose. Probably the most safe would be ashi-waza footsweep techniques. They also have the added benefit of being extremely low risk.
