Jimmy was the only brawler in my opinion when i think of American greats.. everyone was technical an smooth.. Jimmy's gripping strategies is like wearing down your opponents in a boxing match with multiple combinations while stalking them from start to finish!!.. I teach this method at my dojo because of Jimmy's fighting results an dawg mentality.. Fury on the Mat , is a real thing

He was good .. if most tournaments he fought He made the podium.. in fact more times then Jimmy.. the French team back then til now still travels more than Americans teams will ever,do to the the high demand for judo in france.. Fernandez resumes blows all Americans judo fighters resume out the water, as many world medals that guy accumulated..
