This is great, Shuai Jiao and Judo. I would love to see more of these videos, not so much as who’s better but all of us coming together and exchanging ideas. Let’s admit it, it’s the grappling styles that dominate the martial arts world, that includes all the wrestling styles, Judo, Shuai Jiao, Jiu-Jitsu-Jūjutsu, etc. Traditional martial arts is good, it becomes better when you cross train.

The guy is a good friend of mine, they were just putting on a fun show for everybody, he is actually very dangerous and is one of the 8 brothers of shuai jiao.

It is fun that they put on each other's uniform, so both get the usual way of gripping.
@Sei198913 жыл бұрын
this was fuckin awsome! their center of gravity is great. they're both evenly matched in my opinion. specially the women would do combinations of throws witch was awsome. But the best part of this clip was you can feel the vibration of fun and intertainment. 5/5! great post
@misterfallen110113 жыл бұрын
That looks like awesome fun. I train both Shuai jiao and judo, and they're similar enough that I reckon a mixed standing randori session would be very interesting.

@jwgeezer i'm also a woman who has done judo. we fight both men and women during practices and I find that it's not much about strength for the throws, its all physics and getting the techniques right but when it comes too ground work, weight is a huge advantage but women definitely have the advantage of being smaller and faster. but i agree women can be just as good as men

Good video. Theres a huge difference between the 2 arts, judo was intended for sport while shaui was intended for combat. Throws are designed to land opponent on ones head and break the neck, thats why the break falls are different. Also the use of no sleeves, shaui chiao uses chi na which grabs muscle or natural handles of the body rather than the sleeve or lapel. Sport shaui chiao is a bit different of course. Id like to see man vs man on youtube of both arts. :) That would b sweet

@jjjaaaccckkk if that was true, why would we have weight classes? size is always a factor, it's just how much you can minimize it.

@dboyzero A ju jitsu master once told me the benefit of the martial art was that you could learn the techniques to take on much bigger and stronger opponents, I myself have beaten larger opponents also
@TenteixSaigo13 жыл бұрын

@Iightbreaker Ive seen that episode it was great. And yes Kano evolved ju jutsu to judo. Kano was weak as a youth and wanted to be stronger getting into jujutsu. But from the start Judo was merely sport not battle tested like its Mother art. Shaui Chiao on the other hand is thousands of yrs old, some claim the grandfather to all arts. But in order to spar safely theres no throat strikes or other dangerous moves used in spar mode. I dont think Judo employs striking at all.
@Iightbreaker13 жыл бұрын
@Leonidas3888 Judo evolved into a modern day sport, but still has the self defence and lethal killing ability. The sport part was to spread the mutual benifit to the fellow man. It was made for max efficency with minimal effort. Review human weapon uchi mata / or human weapon judo: samurai legacy on youtube video. judo ie jujitsu, ( not jui jitsu or bjj ) is the martial art of the samuai. look it up

judo obviously depend on the gi alot for their throws. she didn't know how to throw him w/o him having a gi on. that's one advantage of shuai jiao. not to mention tat judo came from shuai jiao
@MaxLohMusic6 жыл бұрын
Did judo really come from shuai jiao? Can you link to source?
@whitehaireddevil16 жыл бұрын
Well judo came from various schools of jujitsu. Jujitsu was heavily influenced by the Chinese martial arts. Shuai jiao is the oldest Chinese martial art even older than Shaolin

@9Rayvik9 Wow, I hope you don't believe what you said about the bigger guy always wins. Then that judo woman didn't have a chance. Whomever taught you bjj must have cashed your tution check and ran. LOL Seriously,Skill and strategy are big factors in Shuai Jiao. I can see that she had some issues with the jacket, most do. As for single leg, that doesn't work very well on chinese wreslters.
@daimyosama13 жыл бұрын
@InazumaWaya9 it is all gi fault uhum
@dboyzero14 жыл бұрын
@jjjaaaccckkk there's no difference between the sport and the martial art. if you have two people of comparable skill, the bigger one will always have the advantage, regardless of style. this is just reality. small people only have an advantage over big people when they have an appropriately significant lead in skills.
@boscoblack14 жыл бұрын
i didn't know Chinese people laughed like that, or so much

Hey dude who is attacking me on the street or in a bar, would you mind putting on this uniform so that I can get a better grip and throw you on the ground? Why certainly! I don't mind at all! Absolute ridiculous bunk! That is the stupidest argument I've ever heard. Yes I studied Suai Chiao. And when we trained some had jackets, some had t-shirts, none had excuses.
@B0l0joe7 жыл бұрын
So you are more likely to get attacked by a naked guy with no clothes??

Ju Jitsu is a bastardization of SJ and is basically pure sport at this point. Ground fighting is for tournaments not combat.
