My god that low kata guruma with that screw twist movement is crazy.....

I don't like these line skirting kata-guruma, and I'm not a fan of the leg grab ban. Either attacking the legs with your arms is or isn't allowed. These in-between throws just annoy me

5-3 seconds to go and a Wazari down. What else is he supposed to do. He can only try to close the gap fast and hope for a miracle

Heydarov gets a TON of torque on that Kata guruma, he gets wedged in there, elbow on kneed to block. Then his torque timing and power combined with the counter-torque of the opponent seems to make it super tight once it breaks. Nothing is unstoppable but techniques that benefit from the counter, well, they’re tough. Appreciate your analysis of this and other modifications-this is NOT the classic Kata guruma but as you say, it works.

I think the hard thing in defending it is that if you defend it like a normal kata guruma you get thrown

Big like, keep the good stuff coming! I was very confused seeing the first clip. Very unique style by the French judoka. I'd describe Heydarov's kata guruma as barrel rolling on the mat with arms attached to sleeves or so :D but shoutouts to anyone who develops their own unique technique that is unstoppable. Grigalashvili's sweeps are beautiful. One moment you're standing, the next your on the mat like you were just a baby. But damn he has so many techniques compared to some champions. Just about a different one in every clip.
