I dedicate this song to people living with depression each and everyday in silence.. to those who can't dress themselves, feed themselves or feel as though there is no hope.. may God bless them and instill hope in their lives...NO JUDGEMENT .. and for those who have passed because that beacon of hope was no more , may each of them find the peace that religion, psychologists, psychiatrists failed to give them

on the eve of the 4 year anniversary of my sons death in Afghanistan by an IED I find this video and read all the comments. I still miss him but im so proud of him. he left me a grandson who looks like him. Iraq took my leg and arm and a couple internal organs but it didnt take my heart and soul. my son was my heart and soul.

Such a beautiful rendition of the greatest gospel song ever written by man, but, although they did a superb job, they forgot the best verse, and best 4 lines ever written by man. WHEN WE'VE BEEN THERE 10,000 YEARS, BRIGHT SHINING AS THE SUN.... WE'VE NO LESS DAYS TO SING GOD'S PRAISE, THAN WHEN WE'D FIRST BEGUN !!!!

Must be a wonderful memory to have heard Judy rehearsing this alone. I do believe it is the definitive version of Amazing Grace for the Vietnam generation. I came here after watching the Amazing Grace episode on "Christy"--couldn't get enough! Thank you Judy!( And we are beholden to Catherine Marshall for giving us the "Christy" character and story, about a year in her mother's life in the Smoky Mountains.)

john prince 1 year ago As a young 20ish guy in the early 1960's, I'm not sure how much I appreciated the two divine voices from the gods, like Judy Collins and Joan Baez. I feel fortunate to have had the great privilege to hear their angelic voices for most of my adult life. Mike Hunt 1 year ago Beautiful song- Judy's beautiful voice, beautiful choir backing and..... beautiful eyes. Think I'm getting God...

FROM northtide: The FIRST time I ever heard this song, I was at a place called Khe Sanh, the Republic of Viet Nam, during what has since become known as the seige. We had taken a pretty rough hammering the night before by General Gaip's artillery. I heard Judy Collins singing this song on the Armed Forces radio. Every time I hear it now, the years go away. I am there again.

Bring back the 90's. Now a days, she would have been shot ~say at her mother's funeral. Judy Collins is just like a bird with wings when she takes off into her high notes. I love her expressions of love and peace from all her years on stage, and I treasure each time I get the fancy to pull up her folk songs. Bring back the 90's. At least there children had more direction and were not bringing guns to school, and no smartphones to take us away from humanity and nature. This may sound hippy dippy, but with all the singers she performed with, like Johnny Cash and Pete Seeger, I don't see any reason why my comment's are really bad ones to make per say. Love and Peace Ya'll! Pass it on!

FROM Jordandurell: To all you people who have commented about Miss Collins' eyes, I can tell you this: I am a big fan of hers and have met her several times and, yes, when you first meet her up close you are startled by her eyes. They are a very light blue and very pretty, as she still is. When you see her it is kind of amazing. She does not look her age, to say the least, or act it. They didn't write the song "Judy Blue Eyes" about nothing!

bailinnumberguy 3 months ago: This might sound made up, but I actually heard Judy sing this song the day before on that very stage in rehearsals w/o the choir behind her. I happened to be biking around the mall and heard some pretty sounds coming from that stage, so checked her out. There were maybe 150 people listening. To hear her gorgeous voice coming out of those huge speakers was an unforgettable, spine-tingling experience.
