Here's the deal... no one does this today. No one. It's music and it's musical and it's talent and it's amazing. Nothing comes close to this today... nothing. Thanks, Judy... thank you so much!!

"Age cannot wither her...." how true! The voice is still as pure and true as it ever was. I just listened to your beautiful rendition of this song, and it took my breath away, and transported me right back to my youth, when I used to lie on my bed at college and just let your beautiful voice wash over me. Gives me the same pleasure now in my 60's, as it did then. You have such a God given gift Judy.Thank you for all the wonderful memories, of listening to your music over the years. The quality was consistently OUTSTANDING.Regards, Christine.

We all have gifts, creative gifts. It comes from God our father the greatest creator of all. I am so glad that one of Judys gifts is singing. She doesn't need music, not every singer is as blessed as she. Her voice is crystal clear. I can bake you a cake or clean your house but she can move your soul. This song to me is perfection !! Thank you so much for sharing with us your wonderful gift..xo

In 1970 in Penn Cove, Washington I played this song on large speakers directed across the water at the last Orca capture event. This week (Nov'24) it was announced that the "L" pod of Orcas had returned to Penn Cove for the first time in 50 years (!)

One of my favorite folk songs from the 1960s-70s was Farewell to Tarwathie song by Judy Collins and Whales. Wriien as a poem by George Scroggie circa 1856. It turns out he was my great-great- grand uncle. His brother Robert left Scotland and settled in Sarnia Ontario, Canada. What a thrill to have such a connection to such a wonderful song. The mellody has been used in many folk songs" The Wagoner Lad, Farewell Angelina and others.

Judy Collins never received her highly-due recognition in the U.K.: a real tragedy. Listening to it again takes me back to the late 1960s when I used to frequent Folk Clubs. But no-one sang this song as beautifully as JC. In this rendering, her amazing voice is simply pitch perfect.

Perfectly pitched and pure voice. Not one note is out of place. One of my favourite tracks in "Colors of the Day" album. Her live performance is just as flawless as the recorded version. I very much hope that she will perform this song when she comes to Edinburgh in March, 2020. I've never seen her in concert, so this would be a real treat for me.

Thank you so much Judy for the most gorgeous live rendition of this Scottish song in your concert in Edinburgh on Monday. It was flawless and this charming melody reminded me of Jean Redpath singing John McCormack's "Song to the Seals". It was the most unforgettable experience in my life to see you sing live. I will always treasure this memory. Your voice is the voice of amazing grace. Please come back soon to Scotland and we would love to have you back any time. The gentleman sitting next to me was moved to tears when you sang "Send in the clowns". He said that it was his favourite (and mine too). You and Mr Walden were both amazing!

If you are unhappy with with your lot in life , listen to this song think of the suffering of the sailors months on the ocean in high seas whipped up by gale force 9 winds 16 hours a day for a pittance often resulting in frostbite and lost limbs or death and the needless slaughter of the harmless and defenceless Whales I cry every time I hear it and it puts my own life into perspective .

My favorite song of hers, followed closely by "Send in the Clowns". Got to see her live in Dallas in the late 1990's. She was such a gracious performer, interacting with the audience, telling stories, and of course, singing beautifully. Not all performers are as good live as in studio, but she was. Just riveting.

Hey, anybody else notice that an image comes up at around 1:18...standing white figures? not sure what that is or why it would be there. I can't pause on the image at the right moment to see it clearly after trying several times. Very mysterious... also she has a beautiful voice, not into the traditional songs, but I really love some of her other songs she sings.

So beautiful - Judy's soulful voice above the whales' haunting cries. In the 1800's whale-oil lamps made a reason for whaling, but in this century there's no excuse to hunt and kill these magnificent seafaring mammals. Judy's haunting ballad gives a powerful call: Save the Whales!

Reminds me of falling asleep standing up covered in blood with my knife still gutting black cod, three o clock in the morning fifty miles off the coast of the Olympic Peninsula. I'm afraid I'd do it again given the chance, old bones and all. It's the Ocean's version of god with stars jumping crazy all over the blackest sky as the boat drifts, rocking, with the deck lights out and the motor off. Aren't we all seawater and stardust anyway?
