This is absolutely amazing. She delivered this song 40 years ago and she still sounds and plays this tune as if it were 40 years ago. I absolutely love Judy Collins and especially this song. Her voice is so sweat and pretty. She is a quintessential artist.

Actually she has changed it somewhat (and not for the better IMHO) but she is still fantastic.

@@dennisgallagher Yes the tempo is faster, and it lost the melancholy edge the original had. But it's still great.

Incredible voice... I'm from Germany, and since I was fourish (so... 25 years ago) I remember to have heard her songs once a year on the two-days drive into our holidays and back. So her music is connected for me with moving, with nearly flying - and I would recognize her voice out of thousands. And boy, does she have 'a golden throat'... It's a pity we don't do this traveling anymore - for quite some time now. But inbetween I bought a little collection of her other albums ;)

Interesting to listen to her '69 performance of this song on the "Smothers Brothers" show, and then this one, 40 years later, back-to-back. Just as good as the earlier one, and she still hits every single note perfectly, even in her '70s.

in the 70s, a friend of mine told me to get hold of at least one of Judy Collins' records. Living in Italy, well...But I managed to have one, I paid a lot of money for it...I was in the attic, looking for something else, and ..there it was!!!God!!!What a fantastic voice she still has!!!

I really love this song, and that entire period of music. Can't say why exactly, since it's an emotional thing, but it seems the music was better then, more meaningful. But that's just me. Linda Ronstadt, and the girl singers from that period, Grace Slick and the others, really love those gals.

That is the definition of aging with grace. She cant quite hit and hold the high notes like she could in the 1960s - but she still is awesome.

So glad that I puchased Collins's version of this song, the one that was played on radio at the time, on a 45 rpm back in 1969. The late Buddy Emmons was the pedal steel guitarist on that recording; he could make a broomstick sound good. I remember the song itself from a 1963-1964 Saturday night TV show called, "Hootenanny", but I don't remember the singer. "Hootenanny" featured various folk groups and singers, popular at the time, and staged the performances at various colleges and univerities around the country.
