According to Gerald Clark’s book, Judy actually passed out in front of the camera and then Arthur Freed came over and grabbed her by the shoulders and shook her like a rag doll and snarled “What’s the matter with you? Get up off your ass and let’s film this scene.” If only they understood that Judy was sick.

Disgusting. Sadly, I'm not surprised that behavior like that came from Freed considering he was the same scumbag who exposed himself to Shirley Temple in his office when she was 12 (yes, that happened).
