Rubberised Bitumen is what you want. Goes on like paint then solidifies into the gum you're looking for. Works as an adhesive, sealant ect.

Another great video. Thanks for that! The new glass panels look fantastic. I'm not convinced that the remedy to the leaking corner will last although I'm not sure exactly how it was done. Sealing it from the inside wouldn't stop the water from getting under the frame on the outside, it only stops the last part where the water leaks in. I'm thinking that over time and winter weather, the water that gets under the outer frame will freeze/expand/contract and will open up that point again. As I said, I don't know the detail of the repair, and I'm definitely not an expert on this type of work. It was just a thought that occurred to me. Fantastic result though - looks amazing! Keep the videos coming! Great stuff.!

Reminds me when I used to fit Sunroof’s to brand new cars and used cars back in the late eighties and nineties always cut the hole with a jigsaw , only difference was that you could not remove the roof off the car. Well done!

The inside feels very softy softy with the pano roofs. I guess that's why the lavender background at the end really made sense. But I can see how some would really dig that feeling of a ton of windows. Feels like one of those fancy cross country trains.

I wouldn't necessarily add panoramic glass but on camera it is discreet and in fitting with the look of the defender. I can't wait to see a LS3 conversion. LS3 and an off roader, what a combination.

Truly enjoy the videos, well put together and always make for great easy yet informative watching. The lengths we can go to modding our defenders is insane, love the windows. I'm sure the denser, heavier double glazing glass makes for a quieter cabin whilst driving, certainly should be an improvement to that of the thin aluminium roof of a standard 110 😂 keep the videos coming 💪

This is a real British Custom - English style! The rear side windows look very cool without frames, as if a cast body, I liked that its engine is gasoline, powerful! 31:40 You cannot test Watertightness like that - because: There is a strong (!) low pressure zone on the roof while driving. => the glas will be pulled up a big, which effects the sealing. At least it is a start...

No additional structural support aber cutting all out? This cannot work over years. And the min. is watertightness but also a crack in the glas is quite possible. Just think of the forces of a windshield and those crack while still being much stronger fixed than these 2 big glases.

I cut out aluminium that’s a thickness of 1.2mm - the roof twists and provides minimal support to the body - after installing the glass the roof is stronger than before with no twisting evident - furthermore it’s specifically designed for a Defender and for this exact application. There have been no warranty cases ever recorded for cracking due to normal road use - hope you enjoyed the video 😁
