My son wants to start Judo, and me as a black belt of 30 plus years wanted to show him a rolling juji. There are tons of so called experts (mainly BJJ guys) showing this version of a rolling juji, but virtually all of them are doing it incorrectly. Yours is the only one that I have seen so far that I would show my son. I always give a sharp tug up on their belt and lift them off the floor momentarily to sink both hooks in and decide which way I want to take them. Great demo and thanks for posting this.

The foot hooking the opposite side leg and using the arm to catch the leg after the roll are great details I just learned form this video. Thank you!

Great video, I really appreciated the little details re: which side to reach on, and the circular motion of the hand after grabbing the leg. One question though - why is it preferable to reach for the far leg rather than the near one?

Why do you have to grab the far leg? Does it just make turning easier?

Where I always go wrong with this is once I've put my hook in and they start to posture up before I can push their head down with my shin. Any tips? Abandon and change the attack

Yea my advice is don’t go for this but instead get seat belt and look for rear naked chokes

Remember to bring your heels to your but and squeeze your knees together, before sitting boack or you'll lose the arm bar, if fighting a BJJ guy.

At the point of turning him over, isn't it better to scissor your legs AND use your arm in every case? Since you put your whole body to use that way.
