The way I think about it is it’s like the characters are planets orbiting around a star, the star being cursed energy. Some characters maximize the effects of this orbit (ex. Sukuna or Tengen ), most go along with this orbit (most sorcerers), some are trying to break it (ex. Gojo, Geto, Yuki and most importantly kenjaku) and a few have broken free (Toji (partially) and Maki). Cursed energy is a cage made out of human suffer binding everyone together in that cycle. I think this cycle became more unstable after the events of hidden inventory and the cycle became more of a spiral. I also think the scene with MeiMei and Utahime was meant to show how to break free. The original plan was to run as fast as possible to the opposite sides of the mansion. This mirrors how Gojo and Geto ran to opposites sides of Jujutsu society which I think was the start of breaking the cycle. The thing I’m not sure about is if we are spiraling inward to integrate more with cursed energy (kenjaku’s plan of cursed energy optimization) or spiraling outward away from cursed energy (Yuki’s plan of cursed energy removal). Maybe both somehow? (Sorry this is so long 😅)

So the only thing that gets me is the lack of Megumi in this theory because it seems like Megumi will play a central role to the story's ending based on how the character was built up the whole. So if we look at Hidden Inventory arc, it's the story of the Strong failing and separating. Wouldn't the circle theory be that the reverse of this would be the ending is the Weak succeeding by coming together? It's kinda what we've already been witnessing with the Sukuna cycle. I also believe that it wouldn't be restricted to Gojo and Geto playing the pivots in the end, but their roles are played out by other characters in the comparable slot. Geto is the one who lost his way; started with surety, was shaken/falls apart, and went into darkness. So the reverse progression of Geto's path would fit for Megumi in the final arc; lost in darkness, has to be shaken out of it or put back together, and takes a chance on uncertainty. Then there's Gojo; confidence and high self-worth, sees all with a glaring blindspot that gets taken advantage of, and loses his best friend/most precious person thus is a tale of tearing down. Yuji would then fill the role of Gojo in reverse given what we know of him. Before and after Gojo placed high value in himself, Yuji will continue to place value in others over himself, but his is a tale of building oneself up. So the ending for Yuji might be actually reaching his friend Megumi to bring him back and going from the one blind to everything except his tunnel vision to finally being able to see the full picture. Though, I will admit that a true reversal would be sad as it means Yuji and Megumi would reunite with each other, but as Geto and Gojo started together, then Megumi and Yuji would have to end apart with Yuji dying being the most likely outcome. However, a fun nod at true reverse from the beginning would be that the one who blasts away threat isn't the Gojo/Yuji role, but the savior becomes the saved. So whoever would be in Utahime's role would be the one to save the boys, which could mean a surprise Nobara with a face scar at the very end to save the day could be possible (or Maki which would also be totally fine). Just my 2 cents on it as I felt the circle theory was being a little too literally when story structure works more on themes and scenarios repeating as opposed to reusing the characters.

What's speculated is that the technique's implications derived by the person owns understanding of the world, their worldview. Is soul and body the same thing or different things? Depending on this we have situations like the Geto's hand or Toji's body taking over the other curse user. So a potential comeback depends a lot on what Yuta and Gojo believe is the nature of the soul and body.

If anyone is going to end the cycle it’s going to be Yuji. He is half in the cycle (Sukuna’s brother’s reincarnation) and half outside the cycle (son of Kenjaku). He has direct connections to the reason the cycle exists, so he should be able to undo the creation of the cycle. By destroying Sukuna and by doing so he is undoing the results of Kenjaku’s meddling. He’s like the bridge between control and out of control.

I really thought this video was going to be about an actual time loop theory. As in there is a theory that the story ends with a merger that in some way resets the world (or something similar like yuji becoming a cursed object) back to before/during the hein era, and then yujis/his descendants become/fill the role of sukuna which then meet kenjaku/someone filling their role and the loop continues with the six eyes and limitless,the tenshadows, shrine, and kenjakus brain thing are all tied by fate to continue this cycle until something breaks it. I personally think this is how the story will go until the very end of the manga in which it will show yuji realizing the cycle and choosing to break it ending the story before it begins

I think the option we’re missing re: cursed corpses is that they soul swap megumi into yu/jo in a last ditch “technically correct” attempt to save him. At which point, Yuji is allowed to go all out and finally kill sukuna. Sukuna then, in a final act of infantile, impotent rage against Yuji - initiates the merger with the new yuta/megumi/Gojo cursed corpse as the vessel. Yuji then completely transcends all known strength comparisons by defeating the Merger, but loses everyone to the sheer destruction along the way. In the end Yuji becomes a cruel mirror to sukuna’s singular strength, but completely against his own desires.

I think its also interesting how everytime yuji and todou are fighting a villain the fight's always interrupted by gojo/geto. The narrative and lore of JJK are definitely cyclical. But I believe (and hope) that there will ultimately be a break in this cycle of curses. Kenjaku and Tengen appear to be somewhat of a focal point; their demise may be a good sign (?). The conflict between Gojo and Geto will likely be reflected through Yuji and Megumi in this turn, hopefully with a different outcome. And if we were to believe Kenjaku's words, Sukuna and/or Yuji are essential for the cycle to continue. Though I'm not sure if he was referring to them specifically or the roles they embody.

I had done a time loop theory as well when yuta came back as gojo in others channel. So my time theory differs a more and its a full 1000 year time loop. Our MC who is none other than yuta in main timeline has his fair share of struggles but when he met merger at the end of time all his friends were defeated. Now with this theory gojo still has the same fate and the story is going the same way. But thier is a missing piece and yuta has tried his best to defeat the merger all by himself but he has failed each time but he has a backup plan. Time travel and so he travels in the time of sukuna as he has heard of an entity who was know as the king of monsters. He wants to bring him back into his era to fight the monster but he's not easy to control and now yuta has more enemies in future. So he recreating pieces to solve this puzzle to defeat both sukuna and bring him to his side to defeat merger which is inevitable to come as it has been delayed by tengen for more yhan 1000 years But to control sukuna yuta came up with a plan to create a person like sukuna with heavenly restrictions and so as kenjaku he created subjects and finally made death paintings and found yuji's dad who was sukuna's twin to mate with him and create his perfect person name yuji who will eventually become the next sukuna helping future yuta to defeat sukuna and merger. So we can say there are 2 timeline or more depending on the type of time travel jjk follows as their are many. This way yuta was the mc of 1st timeline while yuji is in this timeline. It was the mayhem created against yuta which was hard for him to bypass and so he became what we know as kenjaku and that the reason why kenjaku even after never witnessing yuta through his own eyes was so confident that yuta can never become gojo. And also a reason why i believe kenjaku only wanted to seal gojo in the first place. He has always tried to hide gojo which could mean he had always wanted to safeguard gojo which he'll eventually fail. So that why he might have come uyo with losing to yuta and finally takeover him or maybe we can see kenjaku memories through yuta and for that this fight has to be long with sukuna. Because all those memories have to kick in and make sense. We didn't got kenjaku backstory and yuta is perfect for sharing that memory. This way yuta will realize how kenjaku has oaved the path for future yuta just like eren did for his young self. I know this is just a theory and im just making myself hyoed uo for no good reason.

We are stuck at a stand still in the story. Sukuna is the strongest and can't lose. However, Yuji is the son of the strongest sorcerer technically speaking, so he should surpass his father, but then Sukuna uses a binding vow to pull some shit. Yuji is a connection to Sukuna he is a worldly bond that is tieing Sukuna down allowing the sorcerers of this world to reach him.

What if, after they defeat sukuna, instead of megumi becoming the bad guy due to sukunas influence and the "bath" like you had theorized, they realize that he is on the path to that and put his soul in Gota, making megumi the third soul in the cursed corpse. Megumi the id, gojo the ego, and yuta the superego. This would stabalize the cursed corpse and allow all 3 of them to still live on, especially since megumis body is quite literally just sukuna now.

I heard a theory in a youtube comment that takes this idea even further saying that the ending of JJK will resemble the Heian era with Yuta taking Kenjaku's role, Megumi taking Tengen's role, and Yuji taking Sukuna's role. It also ties well into the Megumi becoming a villain theory so if this is correct, Megumi would want to activate the Merger instead of Tengen wanting to stop it and Yuta would over time keep swapping bodies and Yuji would cut himself into 20 fingers in order to stop Megumi in the future. I don't know if I really believe this theory but I thought it was interesting since it relates to the cyclical nature of JJK and how roles of the past mirror the roles the characters are playing right now.

i agree with most of what is said but like what other people are commenting, the time loop rhymes instead of repeats. based off the most recent leaks 18:48 would make so much sense because the last two panels of yuji telling sukuna to “lets go” ( i think) mirrored a panel of getou and gojo when getou first meets gojo in the airplane-afterlife. Yuji might have already broken the timeloop then. i dont know for-sure tho cuz i havent even read the manga, im just yapping 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Idk if anyone else has commented this but it’s something I just thought of, Yuta could be seen as a modern day version of Sukuna. Sukuna claimed himself to be an unwanted and unloved child, another name for unwanted or troublesome children could be a Cursed Child. The only “Cursed Child” in jjk we know of is Yuta, a child born with immense cursed energy who cursed someone at a young age, just as how Sukuna cursed his twin to reincarnate throughout the eras after devouring him, just as how Rika devours those Yuta fights to grow stronger, something Sukuna is believed to do to his opponents (I’m not sure I just remember him saying humans have a unique fleeting taste so I’m making an assumption here). What’s more Yuta and Sukuna understand love, while Sukuna disregards it he still understands love, another thing they both caused great harm to characters that loved them, for Sukuna it was Yurozu and for Yuta, Rika. I’m not saying this is what Gege is planning or trying to say it’s a 100% believable thing I’m just saying there are parallels between Sukuna and Yuta just as how there are Maki and Toji for the time loop perspective.

Gojo comes back to life, uses purple against toji, kills him, ownership/responsibility of megumi and willingly handed over. So maybe, gojo(yujo/gota) comes back, uses purple, maybe doesn’t kill, ownership of megumi is forcibly taken, this time by jjk high team. in both cases megumi is wanted by a party solely for his power. In this final battle instance he is wanted by friends (jjk high team). Also, in the first instance of ownership of megumi being in question, gojo was there to prevent the zenin from getting him. in the second instance gojo wasn’t there so sukuna succeeded in taking him. In this third instance gojo(yujo/gota) is there so who maybe megumi is retrieved? Someone above said the flexibility of scenarios makes them question this theory and I agree, but for the most part I think the theory fits.

From a writing perspective, it definitely makes sense to at least try to utilize something that’s been introduced again. Otherwise, to a lot of people, it might come off as something pointless. It’s just human nature to repeat if there isn’t something that can bring about a significant change.

the real time loop was the merging of tengen with the star plasma vessel, kenjaku was trying to break that and required toji fushiguro, someone free from the curse. This led to Sukuna's time loop starting, but we can see that it too can be broken with maki. Why Maki and not Yuji? Sukuna acknowledges Yuji's resolve and ideology and declares to destroy it however, when he fights Maki he pits jujutsu against Makis non cursed energy, giving him a reason to win other than to just kill. This would be a first for Sukuna and I believe just like how the tengens loop required toji to break it, maki would play an important role in breaking Sukuna's. whether it is directly or indirectly it does not matter. Another similarity you can draw is the reincarnation of the star plasma vessel and the reincarnation of Sukuna's vessel, and just like how all the sorcerers failed to kill the star plasma vessel bound by the curse of fate and Kenjaku failing to stop the merging from happening, but toji easily put a hole on the vessels head. In the current story I feel like Maki would a) stop the merging between sukuna's vessel and him or b) as Gege has stated(him eating someone), eat Yuji and thus make his twin half part of him giving him a substantial power boost like Maki and Yutas ct ends and becomes permanently gojo becoming the next six eyes and continuing on as fated, but Maki uses the soul split katana to split the two souls in a body altering the fate once more. Edit, its probably just like real life where history repeats itself Edit again, this sounds so dumb
