To help protect people with epilepsy. Unfortunately, the dark filter was carelessly applied to every NES game regardless of whether it had harsh flashing lights or not. Im assuming that's why this "new" game looks so dark since the developers probably just grabbed the rom thinking it was supposed to look this way. lol That or because old CRTVs had brighter colours and the NES colour palettes was naturally darker and the developers were too lazy to adjust the colours to fit modern screens. 🤷‍♂️ Either excuse works. lmao 😅
