One quick thing to note here: Gojo explains it like that, because of Infinity. He understand his power through mathematical lenses (infinity, as a mathematical concept, when it comes to energy and acceleration, is pretty much how his defense works, literally), which is why he breaks down RCT into a simple equation. Gojo is actually very good with quick calculations and despite his arrogance, he was pretty smart as a student. Shoko has a more kinetic connection to it, which is why she "feels" it, as in she can control it's flow by kinetic instinct, which is why she's terrible at teaching it. Yuta and Sukuna, on the other hand, have almost as another tool at their disposal, to them it's just a natural application of their cursed energy, just of a different flavor. Sukuna has a deeper understanding of it because of how he studied it. And Yuta has it due to his innate potential as a sorcerer (and Rika being a ridiculously resourceful spirit that channels his energy and will super efficiently also helps)

Wow, that's incredible, now that you say it, you can almost feel how each character sees Cursed Energy and Techniques differently, just like "Getwo" says when he confronted Mahito about how his body reacted, saying that Mahito proposed that the soul exists before the body, "but actually the body is part of the soul, and the soul is part of the body" Mahito: "Does that really have to be an universal truth? Are you sure the world doesn't operate differently from your technique to mine?" Then Getwo: "so each technique is its own world-view?" Which also complements this point on how they all see and interpret the world around them differently

The fact that healing has been set up as a high level technique that anyone could learn is an excellent bit of world building. In a lot of anime we see the ability to heal as something that a character is born with or unlocks through a power up. But for it be a skill you can learn, and a vital one at that, just raises the skill ceiling for all characters.

Here is my take: Imaginary number is described as the square root of minus one (-1^(1/2)), so, when he fuses the + and -, he does it in a way such that they dont just cancel out (Because +1 + -1 = 0) but they multiply, leading to +1 × -1 = -1, but that would just make a normal hollow blue, so instead he somehow aplies a squeare root to the result of the multiplication of the energy of both techniques (Because gojo's understanding of ce is mathematical) leading to ((+1×-1)^(1/2)) = i, leading to the energy becoming an imaginary number, not negative, not positive, this could be done when he merges them in a way that makes hollow purple the same size as blue and red, as the square root of a multiplication of a number by itself is, well, the number (the square root of 4×4=16 is 4) but instead he would be aplying it the result of merging red and blue, such operation would cause an imaginary number, as mentioned previously

I've always assumed that the multiplication analogy of RCT to be just an analogy and not literally multiplying negative and negative to get positive. Shoko's explanation had 3 steps where she flicks her finger in different directions

Multiplication can be vector multiplication, for those who don't know, a vector is a tool for analyzing a force or Work (Work is Energy) in three aspects: (Intensity, Way and Direction), which means that the multiplication that Shoko comments can refer not only to the unit of value, but also to the way and direction

Reversed curse technique piqued my interest more than most parts of the power system. Like, does cursed energy have a carrier particle? Like how light has photons? Since it’s “reversed”, does cursed energy have spin like electrons? If cursed energy releases power, and reversed curse technique heals (kinda like storing energy back into a person’s flesh), do we all have dormant reversed curse energy inside us? It just seems like the particle physics of cursed energy would be interesting

My interpretation of RCT healing: Curses can heal from curse energy because their bodies are made from it. Humans heal from reverse curse technique, because the positive energy generated by RCT can be converted into mass. Also why Gojo said he hadn’t learned how to regenerate his clothing after using it.

In theory you should be able to have RCT through conflicting / corrective / positive emotions RCT works because Cursed Energy is fueled by negative emotion You have to have negative feelings about your negative feelings which feels positive Which is unatural for a monster/curse, because they wouldnt have conflicting emotions about hatred/guilt/suffering etc.. and wouldnt naturally feel positvity without corrupting it

He’s not a curse, he’s a sorcerer who was sealed into the 20 fingers and then came back when Yuji swallowed one. In his Mahoraga fight, he explicitly states that he would have died had he been a curse when the sword hit him.

I think the multiplication analogy is like combining a negative feeling with a negative response and getting a positive result. Like a “negative” coping mechanism that’s actually effective. Imagine finding humor in a hopeless situation or maybe even masochism. Not sure if I’m getting my point access effectively. Look at the RCT users in the series. They all have an unusual outlook or weird quirk about them. The elites are sadistic, hikari is basically an addict, shoko and yuta look chronically depressed by the way their eyes are drawn. I dunno

Yes, but most sorcerers below Special Grade can't use RCT. And it's even rarer to transfer Positive Energy directly into something other than yourself or your CT. Like Shoko, Yuta and Sukuna can directly transfer Positive Energy into someone else, including Curses, to heal sorcerers and destroy Curses. But Gojo can't do that, so the only way Gojo can dmg a Curse with RCT is his CTR Red.

The first reply is correct, it's likely to be steam because the reverse of a cold solid is a hot gas. The problem here is you're thinking of *opposites* but not necessarily something that's "reversed". Think of it like this, the reverse of 1 is -1, but they're both still numbers. Just like the basis of her ability would still be H20.

I think is better to explain it as being so sad that you go and do something that you would never do, out of desperation (Like training or challenging yourself) and the combination of a bad mood and an action motivated by that mood resulted in a positive outcome, helping to heal you emotional state

I think a better explanation for why curses have such an easy time doing reversed curse technique is as follows. It's not because negative energy heals them and positive energy damages them, if that was the case, every sorceror would have to learn reverse cursed technique to damage curses. The difference is there bodies/soul is already made of pure negative cursed energy, their entire being is a source, so when they build up cursed energy within themselves, they can heal just as easily as they can attack with it, because they have both sides of the negative x negative equation built into their entire body. Humans only have one side of the equation innately, which is the cursed energy output, their bodies aren't made of cursed energy, but they do leak cursed energy, so there is a source somewhere. In order for humans to use reverse cursed energy, they have to find that source (confirmed to be a part of gut), send negative cursed energy back into it (which would be like trying to breathe in the same air you just breathed out) and then transfer that positive energy to a particular place before it dissapates (like trying to control where your lungs send oxygen manually) This is why it's so hard for humans, it's a very elongated process, which is why they have a hard time explaining it because trying to think about doing it isn't right, it's like trying to control your heart beat, or your liver, it's something that's always be done for you, so learning to control an organ is impossible for most.
