I guess every generation might think the music of their time was the best, but the 60s will always be the time when music grew and evolved into such a wide variety of styles and sounds not heard by a lot of people before then. Many groups and singers since then have just copied it, but I guess that can be taken as a compliment to the artists of the 60s ...

@@dougchilders1264 Wow , that's the way I look at life these days . When I buy anything like clothes or shoes , I sometimes think to myself , am I really going to live long enough , to get full use out of this . Or should I just make do with what I've got . I've got an old Ford Focus that's in pretty good condition . It dates from 2002 . And if the rust don't get it , it might well outlive me . So why buy something newer when this works perfectly well . And that's the way it is , well for me at least . Once you're in the seventies age bracket , I liken it to walking across a minefield . Every step you make , takes you one step closer to the inevitable . There's no way round it . Although some take a short cut . It's the path we all must tread .

It is so that generations are accompanied by music with which they associate pleasant moments in their lives... Different emotions for an official, different for a soldier on a mission... the fact that everything passes, our idols and ourselves, music that in these moments she accompanied us... but whoever lives and remembers these rhythms, let him live for 100 years! Paul Anka, Brenda Lee... these are our young beautiful years, aren't they?

Some of my favorite hits from 1969 were: Baby" It's You, Smith; Bad Moon Rising, CCR; The Boxer, Simon & Garfunkle; Come Together, The Beatles; Coming Into Los Angeles (where I'm from), Arlo Guthrie; Didn't I Blow Your Mind (This Time), The Delfonics; Easy To Be Hard, Three Dog Night; Fortunate Son, CCR; Get Ready, Rare Earth; Green River, CCR; Honky Tonk Woman, Rolling Stones; It's Your Thing, The Isley Brothers; Jumpin' Jack Flash, Rolling Stones (one of the best of 1969); Lola, The Kinks; Love Land, Charles Wright & The Watts 103rd Street R & B Band; Proud Mary, CCR; She Came In Through The Bathroom Window, Joe Cocker; Spirit In The Sky, Norman Greenbaum; Suspicious Minds, Elvis Presley; Touch Me, The Doors; Venus, The Shocking Blue; and Whole Lotta Lovin', Led Zeppelin; I was able to see in concert: Elvis Presley (6 times, 3 in Vegas-3 in LA area), CCR (2), Three Dog Night (2), Led Zeppelin; Jimi Hendrix; The Doors (2), The Shocking Blue, Blues Image, Canned Heat, Vanilla Fudge, Iron Butterfly, Joe Cocker (with The Mad Dogs & Englishmen), Johnny Winter; Sly & The Family Stone (2), Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Spirit, Bo Didley, Hot Tuna, Stevie Wonder, Country Joe & The Fish and others I can't even remember (a few rolled joints from a certain herbal plants that I can't mention will do that to you).

I was once at a Zeppelin Concert in ⁷3
@AllanGonnella
@AllanGonnella 4 ай бұрын
@@user-pj7sq3mg3c We saw Led Zeppelin at the Inglewood Forum in SoCal around 1972 (or whatever year "The Immigrant Song" debuted). It was the only concert we ever walked out on. It was supposed to start at 7:30 PM with no opening act and go until around 10:00 PM. They came on stage about 25 minutes late as the crowd was getting pissed. They opened with "The Immigrant Song" but we could tell both Page and Plant were wasted. The next song went on for about 25 minutes with drum, lead guitar and base guitar solos. The next song was the same. Long drawn out solos. Half way thru the 4th song when they performing more solos we left. A lot of other people were also packing up and leaving. Both Page & Plant were staggering around and could barely sing. Maybe that's why they performed so many solos. What a let down! We also saw The Doors at the L.A. Sports Arena in 1969. Morrison was really wasted and spent most of the time staggering around while drinking. The fans were not happy. At one point Morrison stopped the band and started to recite his poetry. Once again, the fans were not amused. At one point Morrison hit himself in the head while twirling the microphone and fell on the stage. He was basically passed out. He was dragged off stage and the rest of the band played a couple of songs and left. A year later in January 1970 at the Long Beach Arena the Doors were absolutely great. Morrison was on his game. They ended the concert with "The End" but the fans screamed for an encore. A few minutes The Doors came back on stage and played for another 2 hours. What a night!! You just never knew about Morrison.

I've been listening to many of the top 40 comps from the 60s and 70s on youtube lately, and it blows my mind how dynamic the changes in music were from say 1960 to 1982. My god, what an amazing period for popular music. The creativity and variation of what was there in that 20 year period just puts me in a state of awe. Music from 2004 is almost interchangeable with 2024...perhaps a little more autotune in 2024. What the hell happened to creativity in popular music??? I'm sure that there are still people pushing boundaries in the underground...but what boring dreck are kids today stuck with? I know that there are talented artists in the top 40, but the lame production, the lackluster sound, it just puts me to sleep. Are today's teens and early 20-somethings really satisfied with this boring-ass shit? I truly feel sorry for them...I really do.

I've just subscribed to your channel. I'm delighted to find playlists of music from when I was a kid. I used to have that transistor radio practically glued to my ear, and I remember "cellar parties", where we kids used to bring our favorite 45's and albums, dance, eat lots of snacks and drink lots of soda. I was nuts about the Rolling Stones and Creedence. Couldn't stand (and at 68, I _still_ can't stand!) the Archies or Bobby Goldsboro's "Honey" ("See the tree, how big it's grown . . . ") 😝. I've loved "The Israelite". Those were the days! I like feeling like I've gone back in time, and my budgies also enjoy the uninterrupted music of your playlists. BTW - I made public a playlist I compiled that I called "The Transistor Radio Experience". The list begins with music my Mom used to listen to on her kitchen radio when I was tiny. It ends with music I really dug as a 14 year old (and my dad hated!). Anyhow, thanks again for all the playlists you've put out there. 🥰

It was such a time of new things and growth, both bad and good, moral and amoral. Things are stagnant now. Static. People don't seem to have the desire, a spirit of demonic oppression over the world. Parents, take your families to Church on Sunday and enroll your children in Sunday School. It is the core to what is missing. Holding on to memories and mourning is not life. Jesus Christ came so that we could have it more abundantly!
