Bagging protects . It also makes the item bagged look so good( better ? ). Excellent . On a different note ,ever taken note of the Haynes Ownership Manuals, at first it was just cars ,now its items like the real Apollo moon craft and the Space Shuttle and even the crafts of Star Wars and Star Trek , own any ? ( The Books of cause 😂) Just a bit of humour . Thanks for the show .

Thanks Sylvan. The bags do make items look even better whilst protecting them. No, I've not got any of those Haynes manuals. The one on the Millennium Falcon is great though🙂

I'm not sure any of this promo stuff ever made it to the US -and in decades of poking around never seen a Penguin hardback here
@JulesBurtАй бұрын
It was made for the UK market but there are USA editions of some catalogues

I was just reading The 14th Pan book of horror stories, which has two short stories by Myc Harrison in it (The Rat Trap & The Spider and the Fly). It was released in 1973. I wonder if one or both of those stories are related to letter you showed.
@JulesBurtАй бұрын
I think you are absolutely correct. That makes perfect sense, thanks. This letter came from the person who cleared Herbert van Thal's archive after he passed.

@JulesBurt What a fascinating find that letter is, amazing piece of history.

Yes, I was lucky to be gifted it.

Van Thal is a somewhat shadowy figure with hardly any photos of him on the net .... the one i have seen makes him look like a cross between Bela Lugosi & snooker legend Ray Reardon ! and just try and get a signed copy of his Pan Horror series.........can only imagine he never attended their book launches ! Myc ( short for Michael ) Harrison had a few more tales published in the PBHS as well as a new one in a tribute anthology put out by Johnny Mains......

Ah, that's great information thanks. How incredible would it be to interview Herbert today. The stories he could tell. Thanks for the info on Michael Harrison. Johnny actually lives in the same town as me...I'd live to get him on the channel.
