What an amazing gift you received, even with the awful portraits of the future King and Queen. Just found you today for the first time and I really enjoyed what you shared. I have used the Fudenosuke pens for a couple of years now and didn't realize until this episode that the nibs were different! I've always wondered why they were different colors. I have a spare package in the drawer and checked it, and sure enough, it says hard and soft. Even the current pen I am using says it is soft! I can't believe I've never taken the time to read anything. So thank you for that. I subscribed and look forward to seeing the rest of your content.

The rounded flat brush is a filbert and is good for painting petals. The wooden box is fantastic. Everything you need in one place. You are fortunate to have it. Looking forward next week. 😍

Just fill your fave papemate pens with cheap but totally waterproof Indian/Bombay ink when they’re empty if the nibs are still good - you can just pull the nib with tweezers and drip ink in with a syringe (same with Microns), they don’t NEED to be disposable one-off pens

This is great! Thanks. Also, I agree about Kate in the watercolor. Not so good ha ha. And I am doing my art room now so this was perfect timing. I did get the watercolor paper you suggested. I still need to find some watercolor pencils.

Hi I have ordered a few of the materials you've listed. I love your light box did you make it yourself ? I've been looking for an old fashioned light box like this as I can't work with LED knights, but most of the boxes for sale use LED lights thanks Jules

It used to be a light in a bar, apparently. It had some vinyl promo on it, which I removed. It's perfect for the job.

Yesterday I realized I had the wrong paper , and we both like the same fudensuke pens. I have not tried the hard tip which I intend to do.

Dear Jules, I'm struggling to find English Agents, all I find are USA Agents... I've submitted to Publishers directly who turn out to be, "Vanity Publishers" Please help! PS: Thank you for doing these tutorials.

Definitely steer clear of vanity publishers (aka sharks!) Have a look in the Children's Writers and Artists Yearbook 2025 (they come out each year).

It's so wild to me that there's a painting of Will and Kate in an art supply collector box. 😅 It seems so out of place. btw, the "ke" in "Fudenosuke" is pronounced like "Keh" rather than "Key". Fuu-deh-no-suu-keh ❤

No, watercolour pencils just use water soluable dry watercolour paint and the artist grade ones are very well pigmented, or as you put it, saturated. Non artist grade ones are less pigmented and not comparable at all to Inktense pencils.
