Julia Kwamya's

In 2019, Julia was hit by a cab and sustained a brachial plexus injury from the neck to her shoulder causing her to lose mobility and senses in both her shoulder and elbow. As a performer, losing her mobility was devastating, which led her to meet with Dr. Steve Lee, chief of the hand and upper extremity service at HSS. As a musician himself, Dr. Lee was able to relate to her musical background and empathized with the challenges she faced.
