I watched all three movies about four times, that's for now, 🤗🤗🤗🤗 love watching your movies, think I've got about all so I look at them whenever, but i feel that the co star in Notting Hill should have been a little more manly, too docile and gentlemanly, that's what was missing from Hugh Grant's performance but i guess because he's English and can be irritatingly mannerly at times

I thought his performance was perfect as a guy who felt inadequate with her fame but well composed enough to still flirt with respect and humility. Great performance. If he was at all overconfident it wouldn't have worked.

Brens Green The character was written that way because the character is essentially Richard Curtis who is the scriptwriter of the movie. Richard Curtis is like that personality-wise. Had Grant played him more like he played Daniel Cleaver, it wouldn't have worked. William needed to have that sensitivity and awkwardness to him and yet still be charming enough for someone like Julia to like.
