van build TIMELAPSE | start to finish!✨

My solo diy van build is finally COMPLETE! oh my gosh it felt like such a mountain climb to get here but I'm glad my tiny home on wheels is ready to go!
This Timelapse shows the entire start to finish time span from sept 23- jan 19! So in total the van conversion took me 4 months.
I'm beyond excited to be back to posting and back to life on the road. I'll see you next week with a full van tour and the week after we will be back to full time solo van life (with my cat maui ofc!)

What a transformation! You have to feel great knowing that you built it. There us no comparison to your old van. How many hours a day do you average working on your build? Omg thank you so, soooo much. I spent about 8-10 hours every day on it (took 2 weeks off in between though!) I learned a lot of it over time- I used to refinish furniture to sell, and my old van taught me a lot as well! KZbin taught me mostly everything though!✨🙏🏼

Young lady, I’m sure you know and I know you must have heard this many a times already but so very impressive you built your van. This gives you the confidence and knowledge of the in and outs of it for those break downs on the road, you will not have anyone try to take advantage of you for exaggerated time/price. For three days I have avoided trying the rivet gun. That's not the part that worries me it's the part where you have to take a drill and make the holes for the rivet nuts. I'm scared to death I'm going to go through the other side of the Van Wall. I was actually going to go to the hardware store tomorrow and ask him if they had a short drill bit so there was no possibility I'm going through the other side

Hmm… what type of van do you have? I didn’t have to drill ANY holes for my rivets! I have a full video that shows how I did it if you’re interested, my ford transit has little holes and I used those!

@@JuliaBrooke it's a 2022 Sprinter 170 high top. Yes there are some existing holes in some places. After watching probably 2000 van life videos it is my intention to use two by fours and put at least 3 rivet and nuts nh-1 and then any self tapping screws which most people only use and it blows my mind because hardly any bit of that screw goes through the metal and people are always talking about stuff falling down and then you see it happened so yes ma'am I was happy to see you using that rivet gun and I almost went out there tonight to send a few through but I've got the van filled up with everything that is going to be needed to do the roof solar panels to Max their fans and the ceiling that's the only thing I'm hiring out and yes he's going to do the battery box in the power system. Other than that it's all a self-build and this dude in the shopping works for we're disappointed they thought they were going to build out the whole thing and I laughed and I said no I said that's the fun part I said I'm only going to hire you to do the part that is too hard for me as an old lady and the things that are beyond my understanding and have no desire to learn.
