All that lovely champagne and no one spoke a toast? Easily fixed! "To absent friends." We still miss you, Julia.

Cheers to that. My late stepdad used to always toast to that and added to those with us, “May your shadow never grow less”

I'm glad to see Julia's introduction and welcome, which are oddly missing from the first show that was posted here. Thank you for bringing it back to this one!! I still miss the music from the original. It was a piano solo of "These Foolish Things", and for decades, I've thought of this show whenever I've heard that music.

Sweetbreads are so difficult to prepare. This was so helpful.....after all these years...I'm still learning from Julia.

Chef Bradley Ogden has a nasty criminal history of multiple assaults on his then girlfriend between 2005 - 2008. His outdoor attacks on her, witnessed by many passers by, included pushing her to the ground, and punching her in the face. I dread to think what he did to her behind closed doors. Ogden was ultimately sentenced to jail time, and subject of a restraining order, to stay away from her. The creep is now 71 years old. No doubt Julia Child would have been very shocked!

In 2008, Ogden was convicted of misdemeanor battery, lol.

I just looked it up, chef Bradley Ogden was arrested multiple times between 2005-2008 for nasty physical assaults on his then girlfriend. He was sentenced to jail time, and subject to a restraining order to stay away from her. What a creep!

😂😂😂Ikr...but to each their own. Ill wear out some chitlins, but have the nerve to draw the line at sweet breads, rocky mountain oysters, and potted meat. 😂😂😂

I really don't get cooking something in ham, mirepoix, stock and wine and then gushing over the flavor. How are you tasting anything but mirepoix, wine, and stock? Just chill, slice, lightly flour and saute'.

To be fair, many people (like me) are revolted by sweetbreads and organ meats generally, so the flavorings do play a role when cooking for a group.
