I recently relocated my family from Massachusetts to South Carolina. My 4 year old daughter came home after a few weeks from daycare and started praying before meals. I’ve been trying to introduce this but they beat me to it. It was an eye opener. We love it here and would never move back to Massachusetts with kids! I'm a recently retired professor from a state college ( not University). Twenty five percent of my freshmen could not read or write, and unfortunately flunked out the first year. Another 15% were reading at a 9th grade level. After Core Curriculum was instituted for grades 1-12, the state began dumbing down and then totally eliminating entrance requirements for state colleges, resulting in total open enrollment. Kids that graduated from HS with a D average had the shock of their lives, because they didn't receive a trophy for showing up or good behavior.🧐. I also managed the English curriculum for failing students in order to teach remedial skill sets. The end result was dismal, as this group was reading at a 5th grade level when they came to us. Meanwhile, the president of the college was pulling in $400,000 annually for salary, while the students were taking out student loans that had zero chance of being repaid!.

It was priceless to see the expressions on all the members of the Team after that speech at the South American game. I smiled. So did PBD, Vinny, and the BizDoc. Adam's face looked like he just smelled someone passing gas. Also, I know PBD has built a virtual empire based on selling things. He may feel that creating scarcity when selling things is an important sales tool, and much of the time it is. I think PBD is sometimes missing the point in creating a scarcity sales model when getting his merch out to all who want it. If his pro American Valutainment branded hats, put out before the forth of July were not promoted as limited edition merch, hurry up and buy it before the limited supply goes away, he would sell a lot more of them. I am a Vietnam era veteran who has been fighting a corrupt VA for years with limited results. I am doing all that I can but, please remember that not all of your audience is on the high finance train to success. Frankly, watching my country being sold out before my eyes does not make me feel very good about declaring my patriotic patronage with PBD podcasts - at least for this specific instance. I like PBD podcasts but, you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar sometimes. Just saying. Also, Adam is misunderstanding low income housing. I live in a 150 room 11 story high rise that has 30% of the apartments HUD based. What this means is that no, you do not need a job to qualify. It is the opposite. To qualify as low income you have to show that what you make from disability, social security, and any other income falls below a designated level set by HUD or by the state. If you go over that level you can loose medicare, medicaid, or other social safety net benefits.

So it’s not “no ones fault but yourself,” at least not in most cases. Generally, I do agree with you. If you do have the money to move, leave those states.

@@RibbitTab I Totally Agree RibbitTab! The unfortunate part is the insane cost to move, and pretty much start a new life in another state. Personally, if I were in this position, I would live as minimal as I could for a year or 2, save up as much as I can, and make the move. A couple years of sacrificing your wants, and living broke, to make a big move in the near future to a more comfortable location is worth it, when compared to continuing to live under a ridiculous political system that is taking everything you have. Students came to school with weapons, including guns...nobody EVER talked about it and it was never on the news. People just did whatever and obviously still do. We used to go to church, but it started to become unpopular in the 80's. Talking about problems or raising more awareness has no helped, obviously. Antidepressants weren"t available, hmmm....There is a such thing as going over board, people. There are support groups for every serious issue to the most ridiculous crap. Politics and entertainment is why I listen to this podcast anyway. Only money matters in Capitalizm and the only way to get ahead is to lie, cheat ,and still. People talk WAY too much, including the people on this podcast, like, what they have to say is so important or even the truth.

In all seriousness, red lobster, and hooters closing locations is like the canary in the coal mine. These would be examples of places that middle income people go to splurge and spend money. peoples wallets are getting tight so they’re not spending on frivolous things.
@michaeljones37653 ай бұрын
The company that originally purchased Red Lobster did it for the land rights the restaurants were sitting on. They then leased the land, at an overinflated rate, back to the franchises at a much higher monthly rate. It really didn't have anything to do with the customer base, or the restaurants. It was a pure real estate grab.

Love the research and critical thinking you men have shown here. Let's hope America takes this issue of Public Education seriously. The kids are the future of the planet. What else can we do? How can regular citizens gain and keep enough influence to control what matters in Public Education?

A Louisiana man here, I support the 10 commandments in schools because they teach general good values that the society needs, and also this country funding fathers used this 10 commandments as a base to form the rules and laws in this country.

“Separation of Church and State” must have lost its meaning to some people. Nobody has a problem with the content of the 10 commandments, the problem is pushing a religion onto public school children.
@Circuses3 ай бұрын
“Separation of church and state” Those exact words are nowhere in our founding documents, and the areas where it talks about the topic, it isn’t nearly the way atheists portray it.

@@Circuses the exact words don’t but the concept absolutely does. The first amendment prevents the government from establishing an official religion. And this rule is not just to protect atheists, it protects all religions from being oppressed by the government.
