Now I know why I keep coming back to Julian - I'm trying to pin the music down, but it keeps eluding me.. every time I feel like I can know where the melody line is going - suprise! Again it meanders unexpectedly in a new direction - tension building and exquisite release. I think this is the trio that really nails it best, btw. I'm working on a transcription of the theme and I'm having a bit of a mindfuck: part A is two times 17 bars, part B is two times 8 bars but is followed by a 7 bar rest. ???? (brilliant song). Seems easy to notate on a 32-bar sheet, but it feels wrong to write it like that lol.
