@@elijahandurijah7363do not try to make excuses. They were refused entry via a particular gate which DELAYED their warm up during their SEMIFINAL RACE, not the FINAL. And by the way, the race was not even close and Fraser was simply competing for a bronze based on her season and times! Richardson was hyped because she did not even qualify for the 200m. I don't have a problem with her showboating and being overly confident, however, you have to back it up.

I'm hearing some rumors that a huge investigation will happen. The night before the finals the IOC changed some rules. I think Shacarri and Melissa were locked out of some facilitates or not allowed on a bus or not allowed warm ups. I'm not exactly sure wtf happened. The French and the IOC are under a lot of scrutiny right now. All I can find right now are rumors, no official reports yet. edit- I'm gunna leave the original there. I think what happened was the night before the IOC changed the rules that to come into the stadium you had to be on the bus. But they weren't notified and Shacarri and Melissa were not staying on the Olympic grounds. They walked thru the gate the day before, but the day of the finals they are denied entry. They didn't get proper warm ups.

You can hear the disappointment in the American reporters' voices, who thought they would be interviewing a compatriot. Not a lot of congratulations or euphoria from them, quite the opposite. They were speaking with the fastest woman on the planet, they should have shown more respect, which they would have done, had the winner had been from the USA or even the UK. As if Julien Alfred would be worrying about Richards or anyone else in such a moment. Well done Julien, good luck for the 200 metres.

That's an unfair thing to say about female sprinters. They never duck competition, especially not Shelly. Shelly pulled out of a meet less than 2 weeks ago because of injury. She did not run prior to trials because of injury. So, we have no reason to not believe the reports that she picked up an injury in the warm-ups. Remember: Shelly showed up and raced, even when she had the major toe injury, years ago.
