HELL'S KITCHEN, also known as Clinton, is a neighborhood on the West Side of Midtown Manhattan in New York City. It is considered to be bordered by 34th Street (or 41st Street) to the south, 59th Street to the north, Eighth Avenue to the east, and the Hudson River to the west.
Since the early 1980s, the area has been gentrifying, and rents have risen rapidly. Home of the Actors Studio training school, and adjacent to Broadway theatres, Hell's Kitchen has long been a home to fledgling and working actors. Today, in addition to the long-established Irish-American and Hispanic-American populations in the neighborhood, the area has a large LGBTQ population and is home to a large number of LGBTQ bars and businesses.

Interesting to see, the videos, gives everyone a first had view of what it's like. I don't like crowds and wouldn't like to live in a crowed area any where, however I enjoy watching NYC videos. Most people are fairly happy where they live. Lots of stimulation, lots of choices, and lots of people. I like grass, trees, sky, and stars. Crowded is okay for a visit.

Tourists with fanny packs and their phones out look just like the ones here in Nashville. Once you turned off onto the streets where people live, play, and survive I was fascinated. Great job with video quality and thanks for not talking and letting the city speak for itself. Might have found a new genre rabbit hole to dive down here.

For those that may not understand, some of us were born and raised in NYC, which was not by choice, but just the random odds of where your parents decide to raise a family. So where some of you see a crowded, over developed city which may seem cringe, or crazy that anyone would live there....please note that what myself and others who were born here, instead see a place where we have many great memories. I see the streets where I would walk with my dad to his office when I had a day off from elementary school. I see the streets that I would walk to go to school, the streets that I would go shopping or eat with friends. I see the sidewalks that I walked for so many years, and where I met so many wonderful and interesting people. I see the Times Square before Disney showed up, I see the Times Square that was empty at night and where you would never see a family with kids walking around at midnight. I see the Colony record store that I would go at midnight to just search for albums, and then walk to the subway while the city was nice and quiet in the early morning. I know most people just see NYC as a circus, or something that they want to cross off the list to tell their friends they went Times Square etc.... and I know most people live in more rural areas, and believe that is a better quality of life. But I would argue differently, living in NYC makes you less likely to be a racist, less likely to be narrow minded and limited in your experiences or understanding of what other people are like, and also less likely to be bored, it offers way more opportunities than a one street farm town where all the kids can't wait to leave since they are so bored from having nothing to do. The city forces you to interact with people from every corner of the world, every religion, every race, and you learn you are accepted for who you are, and not made to feel weird or different. I'm glad I was not raised in a small town, you can keep your country life, I'd never trade one second living in NYC for anything.
