Ha! @2:34 - roast dinners. Some British people seem to want familiar food when they go to foreign places. It's a mystery to me too. I can remember stopping off on the Costa Brava in 1970 and seeing fish and chips and English Beers in the restaurants. English-style pubs. Good grief. We packed up the car, spent a night in Valencia, and got to Almeria where we stayed. That was Spanish and not a theme park catering to British tourists.

This right here is why a MTB is so fun, just go where you want, no need to plan and overthink it, just get out and see places, love this video, it just speaks to my experiences :)

Nice video...and yes, the overthinking part! I'm actually just in Lanza MTB touring around the Island and did exactly what you did on my first day....tried to plot a way out of PDC with the Garmin,....was pointless...just rode...same route as you but a bit further down the coast and up to the main roads for a very windy (50kph) crosswind descent of 600m into Playa Blanca! It's a great Island!

It is the wildest place this Lanzarote island! 🌋 And yeah, I know the feeling you were elaborating upon, that need to strike the perfect balance between all that is pulling us in different directions. Just think that a child needs not only a mum, but a happy one above all, and so loved ones. A somewhat extended time riding can only do us good 😄🙂

Totally get you in terms of finding the balance. I thought I’d have more freedom as my kid got older, but now she’s 16 and started working, and needs taking and picking up at all kinds of random hours! Frustrating when you get to the weekend and have some time off to go on a long ride, but your kid needs to be at work for 11am. Ah well, there are definitely bigger problems, hey? Glad you got to enjoy your hols. Great vlog☺️

Half an hour late but you are happy for rest of day . Good trade off I say. Great video I did part of the same route 3 years ago. Jamaican tapas just by the harbour . Highly recommended if you are still there. Enjoy!

I walked that route from Los Pocillos to Peurto Calero just before Christmas. It’s a lovely route. Had a well earned beer at the marina. Will try cycling it next time. Bet the steps were a bit tricky!

After seeing what you got up to I will be doing one for sure..... I do plenty MTB riding in UK and the area looks epic for a day.....but do I go full sus or hard tail.... pedal power or e-bike....👍😂👍

On Lanzarote, my deal with my significant other is: 3 hours in the morning is for riding. The rest of the day we spend together. And by the way, at about minute 6 of the Video you passed Barranco del Quiquere. Thats where we stay on the island, those fincas above the barranco. Could have seen you from the garden, but for reasons i have to stay in the cold nothern germany 😕 now.

you should head down to Playa Blanca. There are some great trails up the west coast, and natural swimming pools to cool off in! A much nicer resort than Puerto del Carmen too. I'm here cycling now, definitely my favourite part of the island. Great vid as always!

I have just sent this video to my wife as a subtle hint as to what I need to do later this year. I agree it is hard balancing that time between family and what you need to do to make you happy. Looked awesome, did you get any grief off the pedestrians? The trails looked great for hooning around though maybe when it is quieter 😎

Did that bit you did out to coast, but in the other direction. Plus 40km 80% off road. It was hard but awesomeness. Did have a guide luckily 🤣. 11.20 in this video, did spin down a 5km downhill to where you headed back. But very remote out there. Wouldn't recommend going out on your own being honest. It was mostly goat trails. Few hikers, lots of thorny brush to land on if you crashed. Don't ask....
