I've just got back from Mallorca. Lighthouse is closed and there's a road block so the traffic was horrendous. Sa Calobra was stunning as always and the freshly squeezed orange juice shack on way back is so good.

Love the videos. Ive done years of endurance sports.If you are ill then in my opinion the most effective thing to do is stop training completely, otherwise you will never recover quickly. I always say be ill like you train…do it properly! Take to your bed/sofa. Eat what your body craves and do not be tempted to exercise. I had the horrendous sore throat thing last week. Couple days off work and definitely no training and I’m over it.
@HarryFenton61243 жыл бұрын
I agree. The body needs rest to recover properly. You can make yourself properly ill if you try to train through it. I have learnt over the years.

Just back from a week in Mallorca. The costal road heading SW from Banyalbufar is perhaps the most beautiful cycling I’ve ever done. And the ride out to the lighthouse at Cap de Formentor is simply epic. Go early (before 9) as the traffic picks up after. Enjoy.

I’ve been to Fuerteventura twice. The first time we hired road bikes, the second time we took our own. We stayed at Caleta de Fuste, but hired bikes from LifeCycles in Corralejo. There’s plenty of gravel riding if that’s what you want to do, but the roads are really nice and quiet. It’s flatter on the eastern side and hillier in the west. The hilly roads around Betancuria are great and you do a decent loop with several long climbs. The coast road down the eastern side, is busy but once you get off that, the roads are pretty quiet. There are some really nice villages with cafes - such as la Oliva, a really nice cafe cake shop in Antigua. Other interesting places are Tuineje, Pajara, Gran Tarajal, Pozo Negro.

Can’t help with bike riding in Mallorca but, always packed the trainers and ran along the bay in Puerto Pollensa and in the old town of Pollensa up the Val de Colonya . BTW not sure if you’ve linked it up as yet, if new to Brixham. There’s a great bridlepath trail up to Hillhead , which links from the trail from the beach on st Mary’s road to bypass Milton st. Once on the downhill on kennels road you can choose to take the trail left to Greenaway...perhaps take the boat crossing to Dittisham FB inn, and beyond, or turn right on the downhill, past Alston farm to Churston and the pub. Then cut through cross country to fishcombe cove and back to Brixham by the yacht club . Lots of opportunity for cycling, pub, sea swimming

Hi Juliet, We went to Madeira about 18 months ago on holiday (not cycling). Absolutely lovely place. Really hilly and mountainous so I would suggest a 'road' bike might work better. Lovely views from the high points and scenic roads. i guess you would fly in to Funchal, which is the main city and on the southern coast, this area is really cosmopolitan. Temperatures are better than britain but not as high as southern Europe. Road surfaces were good as I remember, with lots of areas to explore over the large island. The northern side of the island are supposed to be quite different again, a bit cooler (we didn't get there). Beaches we found seemed mainly stoney but the sea is definitely swimmable. There are lots of waterways around the mountain-side (like water gullies) called lavadas, I'm not sure if the path alongside these are meant for cycling but, this would give some great options for non-road cycling. I'd like to go back!

I have admired the Aftershokz Aeropex bone conduction headset for my riding, reasonably priced too. Nut at my age I needed to buy hearing aids and they came with Bluetooth so that I can listen to my iPhone music, Podcasts and Spotify while out. I find that the novelty wore off and I now prefer to ride in silence except for my RWGPS announcements. If it wasn’t for my terrible hearing though I would definitely have the Aftershokz though. On the paid content, some like it, some don’t. I don’t subscribe to any channels myself but I can appreciate that there is a value that every blogger has to put on their time, effort and equipment. Thank you for your free content and effort Juliet.

Great channel 👍. I understand the attraction for you of membership, but I don't think it will bring in very worthwhile numbers. You might find yourself desperate to add value for your minority of paid members, whereas you could spend that effort growing your main channel for the benefit of the majority. I'd say focus on the current model for 'consumed' content (i.e. people watching your videos on KZbin for free), but by all means use the channel as a way to promote other content/services, such as tutorials, online classes, online readings/presentations... which can be paid. Anything interactive. Whatever you do - keep doing more of the same 😎, your channel is a pleasure to watch 😁.
